August 1, 2011 at 6:19 pm #105957IndiannaMemberNellie wellie and I trotted off to support Second Chance Kennels’ fund raising day, Bark in the Park last Sunday. As soon as we arrived Marie who runs Second Chance with Ena yelled NELLIE and scooped her up for a hug. After I managed to drop a pea into a bottle and won a little bag, we moved on. Two tents later, the shout of NELLIE rose again and Ena who runs the rescue scooped Nells Bells up for a big hug. Both Marie and Ena were delighted to see Nellie and she is more than happy to get attention from them. She is a charming little dog – unless you are a hedgehog – say no more We entered the six classes we could, even the fancy dress. Didn’t have any fance dress so I said we were aliens who were disguised as a human and a dog but we didn’t win anything for that one. There would have been a riot from the people who did dress their dogs up, but its all in a good cause. She did, for the second time, come second in the dog with the waggiest tail class . Beaten into second place by a Spaniel this time, was a Lab the first time. As soon as we come first in that class we will retire from entering it again. Got a few nice dog toys, two of each for both mutts but Nellie is doing her very best to destroy them so she gets limited access. The nice knotted bone she got for Christmas via the dog training class has been reduced to a knot with long threads hanging off it but she loves it so can’t get rid of it yet. We got a lovely welcome from Dudley and her grandad when we got home. I left Dudley to keep his gradad company. He (Dudley) loved going through the bags and grabbing toys out and running off with them while being chased by Nellie. Her grandad greatly admired the rossette she won and he told her that she was a very good dog having brought yet another prize home. A good day all round. That is it from Nellie world for the moment.

August 20, 2011 at 5:50 pm #106117IndiannaMemberYou are right Audrey, we wii have to build an extension onto the house quite soon . We trotted off to a very small agricultural show today, you know sheep, ponies, pets corner and dog show. Nellie wellie and I returned with one rosette, one dog tooth brush, two poo bag dispensers (with poo bags), one pound as in £1.00, a £5.00 token for Eukanuba dog food and a pen:D Her grandad was delighted with the goodies she brought home. She is now on my bed chewing a chew bone. Back to dog training on 1st September so better get practicing or Norma will know that we have been up to no good, as in not practicing for 5 minutes a day That’s it from Nellie world for the moment
February 19, 2012 at 5:08 pm #104368IndiannaMemberHello everyone, thought it was time for my 2012 check-in. I still go to work and my best friend who comes into the office to make coffee always lets me sit on his knee. He feeds me biscuits and says not to tell my creature . He whispers into my ear that if my creature ever gets gets hit by a bus (charming!!!) I can go and live with him in his house, he would send the rest of his family out to live in the shed. We had a day off last Friday so the creature, Dudley and I went for a nice romp over the hills. He and I enjoyed stalking the sheep, fear not, we are on long lines so can’t chase them. We raked around in the long grass and investigaged various holes. I go further into the holes than Dudley because he is a big woose. I splashed my way through a shallow river but Dudley had to pick his way over the dry stones in case he got his paws wet:? Did I mention that he is a big woose On Saturday we (not Dudley) went off to a training day. We learned some new moves but had lots of breaks so the person running the training could explain to the humans what she wanted them to do. My creature told the trainer that, if we get the chance, we would try to get out over the summer to some dogs shows to see how we get on. The trainer was very taken with me (no surprise there, everyone is ) and used words like, ‘great, smart, super, clever, really super. Didn’t say ANYTHING about the creature’s performance My person has a cold today so we have had a lazy day. She gave us the last of our Christmas presents and we destroyed them but had a blast doing it We helped Grandad with his lunch and are now looking forward to his (our) next meal – he likes us helping him with his food – he really does . The creature looks at the DID site several times a day and I suspect she has her eye on someone, mmmmm Time will tell

February 27, 2012 at 12:10 am #108602DID RescueKeymasterWell done Nellie flying the Irish flag for Rescue dogs
You are doing a great job and others are coming to realise your talents are endless
I am sure Grandad is delighted with your help.
You keep us posted on your progress if you venture to some summer showsFebruary 17, 2013 at 9:40 pm #114089IndiannaMemberNellie’s creature here, Nellie is currently asleep as she has had a busy day. Much to my great pride in my little black mutt, she won her competition in HTM today . I have to say she won it in spite of me not because of me . I cannot tell you how many people admire her. I can see them thinking, "I could do so much with that little dog but she is in the hands of an idiot". I have taken a photo of her rosette which I will put on the blog at some point and she also got a little bag of food. The three of us from the training club who were at the show also did a group "thing" and came second, granted it was out of three . We thought we would have been third and quite happy with that so you can image our great joy when we came second . Someone, who shall remain nameless, messed up our routine a little and for once it was NOT me . We, Nellie and I, have to ‘up our game’ now as we can no longer compete in the class we won today. She and Dudley continue to get along very well. They play together in the house but oddly enough not outside . She is very much top dog and he seems to be happy with that arrangement. They are both due their boosters so that is a little trip out for them next week and as pay day is approaching it all fits in quite nicely. Due to do a bit of cat sitting soon so that money will be heading to DID as usual. So that is the up-date from Nellie world, I am sure she would say hello if she wasn’t asleep but as I said, she has had a busy day

I’m always reading your posts Indianna. I was wondering who your dog is…sounds like a super combo of the two dogs getting on and slotting in together.
