Thanks
She is getting calmer by the day….Today she actually got into one of the dog beds ![]()
Maya is starting to get her commands down, she sits for her food without telling her now, when i’m putting the rest of the dogs "Out" she goes too, "No" is beginning to register

When i’m in the kitchen cooking she just sits at my feet. Bought some plain rawhide bones yesterday and she spent hours with hers, had to hide it when the other greedy guts realised she still had it!!
She knows when she sees the lead that we are going for a walk and its easy to put on the lead and get out the door, she loves her walks.
Haven’t had her off the lead yet but will try some recall with an extendable lead. Gave her a bath the other day and it wasn’t too bad..she tried to escape once or twice. She wasn’t too impressed with the hairdryer but with the lead on and alex petting her I was able to get her dry in about 15 mins….
She really is an angel for a 10 month old Lab who’s not used to be indoors, we have’t had any destructive behaviour…a few snatch and runs!!! but nothing major.
She is always smiling and would make a great companion for another dog or as the only dog in an active household.

Maya has two settings…..she’s either go go go or snooze snooze snooze!!!! When she’s awake she never stops
and when she’s asleep she goes into a coma
She still has a few bad habits but she’s getting better everyday. She can turn anything into a toy so you can’t leave much down when she’s around. She adores playing tug of war and loves a belly rub. Once she’s had a good long walk she is a different dog, calm and gentle and really sweet. Like most working breeds they thrive on exercise and mental stimulation, she will spend hours with a sturdy chew toy or rawhide bone. She is very food driven and will give you her complete attention where treats are involved
All she needs is someone who is willing to spend time training her and bringing her to her full potential.

Once she has had a good walk and has a toy to play with or rawhide bone to chew she’s as content as can be. She is very active with bundles of energy which if not burned off can lead to mischief (how labs always seem to seek out the loo roll is beyond me) but walk her and play with her and she’s quite happy to snooze at your feet or your lap if allowed ![]()
Delighted to say Maya met her new forever family yesterday and it was love at first sight
She is going to be living near the park and the beach and I know she is going to have a wonderful life with lots of long walks and loads of attention ![]()
Maya (new name Ally) headed off to her forever home this morning
She jumped into the back of the car as soon as the door was opened and away she went
I know she is going to love being the centre of attention with her family who are so excited to be getting her.
Update from Mayas(Ally) new family….Ally had a great first night with no accidents and no crying!!! She’s a great girl ![]()
Chilling out in her new home ![]()

Got a lovely surprise today when I looked up and saw a very happy gorgeous lab walking past my job. Thought to myself I know that dog…..the lovely Ally (Maya). She was in her element out for a walk with Stuart, head up and tail wagging
It makes you realise how rewarding fostering is.
Got a great email from Stuart, Ally’s (Maya) new Dad. So had to upload some of the pics for everyone to enjoy her happy ending

Had a visit in work today from Ally and Stuart(daddy) and all I can say is Wow. She has lost every ounce of puppy fat and is a stunning slim and athletic beauty. She goes swimming everyday and you can see that her and Stuart have a special bond. She has completed obedience training and starts Agility next week!!! It just goes to show picking the perfect family for each dog makes all the difference.
