Luka was found straying in Dublin city centre on Fri 9 Jan by a DID fosterer. He was freezing cold, out wandering around in the snow. Details have been reported to the Bridewell Garda Station and Ashton Pound. Although he is in foster care Luka’s listing is in Urgent Matters for the time being in case someone who has lost him is looking for him here.
Luka is male and about 2 years old. Anyone who has lost a dog fitting Luka’s description should contact Ashton Pound.
He is a beautiful dog, quiet and affectionate. Here are some pictures;
Luka has a particularly beautiful coat , as you can see here;

January 14, 2010 at 11:48 pm #88227justineemoeMemberI have to say that Luka is the most huggable dog I have ever fostered. He is like a big teddy bear – his coat is so soft and he has a way of snuggling into you and looking up at you as if you are the centre of his universe. He is so gorgeous – who ever gets this beautiful dog is going to be crazy about him. He’s a very special boy. There isn’t a bad bone in his body – he loves everyone – human’s an dogs. (I must cat test him to see if it also applies to them!)

January 19, 2010 at 9:21 pm #92700justineemoeMemberLuka is having a bit of a tough time here – I work full time and he spends all day M-F with my other elderly dog who is intollerant of him, and mean to him during the hours that she is not sleeping. Luka never, never retaliates when she gets angsty with him. He is the ultimate pacifist – which is one of Luka’s wonderful qualities. Luka is only 3 (not 2 as previously reported) and deservs better – more human contact for a start and less canine agro from my little JRTerrorist. He is improving greatly on his house training – we are very nearly there so someone who can be there to finish the training with him would be ideal.
I have to say Luka is a joy to foster. He is as easy going and gentle natured dog as you could meet. He is excellent with children and other dogs. I love having him here in my home. He is a really great dog, in fact he is BRILLIANT! I hope anyone reading this and looking to adopt a dog will take this on board also. He comes very highly reccomended by me. He is probably smaller than the average retriever – he is a cross of some sort.
Luka has already been microchipped and vaccinated by DID – he needs to be neutered before he goes to his forever home. If you have any space at your inn I promise Luka will ask for very little except your love for a little while and he will give you so much more in return.
