There is a little 6-8 week old puppy in the pound with a touch of mange, it is very easily treatable but will need a foster home with no other dogs as it can be contagious. Can anyone help this baby?
Please don ‘t be put off by mention of mange, one treatment for sarcoptic kills the mites and there is no risk to people, just a little tlc needed. Check with Gwen but even kept seperate for a few days from other dogs would suffice.
This is a lovely little baby. Picked it up out of its cage this morning for a cuddle. The mange did not look too bad, yet I am sure it is very uncomfortable for the puppy. I would have no problem taking a puppy in this condition as I have no other dogs, unfortunately due to work and other commitments at themoment, I can not be at home as much as I would like.
This little puppy was still in the pound at lunchtime today. The pound staff had the puppy out for a short while today, getting some fresh air and a chance to stretch its legs. Loads of personality. Hopefully its skin condition is improving. With all the treatments it has had, it should be safe and on the road to recovery.
We have renamed Luka .. PJ… as in Pal Junior.. He is the absolute double of Pal !!! Just like a miniture version … I will take a photo of the two of them together as you will see what I mean
He’s a teeny tiny thing … I’d say only just 8 weeks if even !!!!
So PJ has settled in nicley.. he has a lovely personality.. such a happy little man despite the fact that he has mange and it’s probaly uncomfortable for him !! He had an accident in his crate the first night only and since then NONE !! And at night time there isn’t a sound out of him even though he is so young and in a crate all on his ownPJ was not well at all and spend a few days in cara recovering but thankfully he is back home with us and is feeling much better now.
I do think he was delighted to be back with us and his buddies so hopefully now it’s all good news from now on for this little manPJ is a firm favourite in this household.. we will be happy for him when he does go to his forever home but sad to see him go !!!
He is such a friendly little … (actually not so little anymore ..) puppy and he has such a gentle nature. Of course having collie in him he is very clever.. he knows exactly where those little gravy bones that they all love (Compliments of The Wagging Tail) are kept and will sit there nearly asking for 1
