Lucy is 16mths old. She loves other dogs and is afraid of cats! She is good with children. She is very smart and knows all basic commands but has great potiential for lots of other things! Lucy is looking for a new home as her owners have longer working hours and cannot give her the time that she needs. She is spayed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped.
Sorry about the bad picture quality – she is much prettier in real life!
April 2, 2009 at 5:13 pm #84116martinacareyMemberLucy has been with us a few weeks now and settled in straight away! She’s so lovely and friendly, loves meeting new people and is great with kids and other dogs! She’s quite strong on the lead but we have had no problems letting her off and she comes back no problem when we call her. She is a little jumpy at loud noises and passing cars when we have her out walking but other than that she’s just happy to be out walking. She would be great for an active person or anyone that loves long walks, she also loves a good ball chasing to tire her out! I’ll upload some photos of her getting comfy on the couch!
April 2, 2009 at 9:56 pm #84130danzerMemberHey there,
we really like the look and sound of Lucy. We are hoping to give a good home to a dog. We prefer a dog who is used to being in the house living as part of a family. We are two adults and two children aged 11 and 9. Both of the children are very good at handling dogs and would provide plenty of excersie with a ball in the park. We have a secure back garden, with dogs on either side. Can you tell us if she barks a lot at other dogs? We sometimes go to the countryside and would like to know if she is good in the car. As we plan to keep her in the house we can only take a small or medium sized dog. She doesn’t look too big in the photo, is this correct? Children visit our home, would you trust her with other children? We would like to know is she house trained?
We’d love to here any other information you could give us.April 8, 2009 at 6:32 pm #84257martinacareyMemberShe’s great with other dogs but doesn’t bark at them, she doesn’t bark that much actually. She’s brilliant in the car and is well used to it as we bring her in the car all the time for her walks. She loves kids and is good with them, she’s great in the house and fully house trained, she doesn’t chew on anything in the house either, just loves her chew toys. She’s a medium sized dog but tall enough. She’s strong on the lead so a little training on the lead would be needed, we’ve done a bit with her and she is a quick learner and will sit, lie down and stay when you tell her to.

She’s so much better on the lead now thanks to some training to heel which didn’t take long at all, she’s so smart. I can’t believe it’s the same dog when I walk her now compared to when we first got her. She’s so loving and just amuses herself in the house with her toys and comes over every now and then for a rub. We had Jimmys Dads staff over for a sleepover and her and Lucy played all day, she had great fun and didn’t even mind Jess sleeping on her bed or stealing her tennis balls!

We had our home visit a little over a week ago, and are waiting to hear back. We are in the Dublin area and would love to meet Lucy when we get our approval.April 14, 2009 at 11:46 am #84367danzerMemberI sent a private message to you which included my phone number but I am not sure if it actually sent. Perhaps you could contact me and let me know if you received it.
Many thanks

She’s still doing well on the lead and not pulling much at all most times unless she see’s something she wants to investigate! She was jumping up on me whenever I came down in the morning or home from somewhere but she learned quickly that she didn’t get a rub til she sat down so now when I come in the door anytime she sits down straight away and hugs my hand with her paws as I rub her belly, she’s so cute! Hope she finds her forever home soon.
