Well guess what?
Lizzy has just become one of us and we have just joined that gang of Failed Fosterers.
We count ourselves very lucky that we have been allowed to keep the little pet though she is now nearly taller than Nelson and we just want to say thank you to Julie who rescued her and all in D.I.D who let us both foster and now adopt her.As you can see from the photo above she will not mind any new babies who we may be allowed foster in the future,Nelson has taught her to share well.
CathyJanuary 19, 2010 at 9:08 am #92737louisabyrne1980MemberCathy great news for you! We met you at the walk in October when Lizzie was only teeny and snuggled in under your jacket! She has gotten so big now! We too are failed fosterer parents, all foster pups and dogs are special but the very special ones just catch your heart!

January 20, 2010 at 6:24 pm #92804clairefMemberHi Cathy!
Delighted for you all and especially little Lizzy she is cute as a button! She reminds me of our own little Oki Sky who you so amazingly travelled all the way down to Wicklow to home check us for! They have the Same ‘butter wouldnt melt’ face!
Lucky Lizzy know you are all going to love her to bits Nelson included!
Our Deelo is in Love with little Oki Sky but I think we all knew he was a bit of a romeo! You will be happy to hear that he has calmed down quite a bit when meeting new people and doesnt feel the need to pin them on the couch and slobber on their faces. . .thanks so much again for that many would have turned on their heels and legged it at the sight of his big munchy face coming toward you for a slobbery kiss!
Wishing you all the best with her!
Love Claire, Gar, Deelo and Oki Sky xxx
January 24, 2010 at 2:02 am #93005Cathy ByrneMemberHi Claire,
It was an absolute pleasure to do your home check and I think Deelo is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever met.
I was delighted to be made feel so welcome in your home by Deelo that I never had any doubt about your love for dogs and through that love and care the confidence that your "little" man showed was just brilliant.I am delighted that your little lady has settled in so well and will benefit from all the care you guys can give.
Lizzy is another little heartbreaker but looks like she will give Deelo a run for his money in the legs department when she is fully grown.
CathyJanuary 25, 2010 at 1:07 pm #93069clairefMemberHaha our vet said the same about Oki Sky. He reckons when she is all done growing she will be all legs! She really does give Deelo the run around! Lizzy and Oki look like they may have the same body shape and pretty brindle coat! Their heads are totally different though you can see the boxer in Lizzy and the staff in Oki Sky!
Deelo has eventually grown into his legs and they dont look so gangly anymore! He has packed on a good few pounds since you guys were out! sniff sniff he is all grown up! But always our little baby!
Cant wait for next DID fun day to meet the fab Lizzy!!

Thank you from us all but especially from me for my best friend and because of you all the babies who have been allowed stay with me and every time they leave I think of how you felt.
Having said that Lizzy has not left and nor will she,our paperwork went in today and she is now officially ours. -
