January 10, 2009 at 4:58 pm #82553YvonneMMemberOh wow she is gonna be a beauty with a bath and groom though.
Looks like the January fall out has happened, pound must be fullJanuary 10, 2009 at 5:22 pm #82554jake n baileyMemberPoor Fly is really in an awful state Her coat is all matted and she is skin and bone underneath. She was friendly with everyone and likes to nuzzle her head into your hand for a pet She was very good with any dogs she met and she was out loose in the yard with a few dogs.Walks very well on the lead.Lovely Girl and will be even lovlier when she gets a good groom and food every day.
January 11, 2009 at 12:55 am #82558dogluversMemberThis little lass is an absolute dote i just wanted to bring her home clip her and give her a good bath in tea tree or something that would take the itch away im sure the poor little girly is so uncomfortable..
Here is a pic i took of her while Emma was falling in love!!!January 26, 2009 at 12:42 pm #82900stefandjudyMemberThis baby is living with me and OMG she is the quietest, most loving dog you can imagine!
Leia is completely housetrained, sits on command, never barks and comes over for cuddles whenever she sees the chance of a few rubs.
She pretty much slept straight through the first few days I had her and then started coming out of her shell. She really is a sweetheart and has obviously had a hard time. She had a lot of matts and still has very bad skin from malnutrition. She hides behind the couch when she hears raised voices and is very submissive towards me and the other dogs. It’s heartbreaking to see really.
Here she is trying to figure out what the chance of another headrub would be:

February 3, 2009 at 1:33 am #83089meathcoastMemberHi Stef
What a beauty!
Is she looking for a home now, or when she has put on some more weight. How much is she putting on now? How tall is she? Would you say Retriever size? So many questions, I’ll stop!!
Ian
February 3, 2009 at 12:25 pm #83098stefandjudyMemberHi Ian,
she is only about collie size. An absolute beauty and so well behaved it’s unbelievable! She is very good on the lead and excellent off it.
She will be re-homed when she has her full weight back and is perfectly healthy all around, but we are taking bookings for her now so if you are interested, please send in an application form mentioning her on it.
Thanks!
February 6, 2009 at 11:40 pm #83253GemsmaMemberHi! Leia looks and sounds to be a gorgeous dog!
I noticed that on her write-up it now says that she needs a home with no young children,as she’s still quite nervous(maybe it said that all along and I missed it?!). Anyway, can you tell me, does she get snappy around small kids? Or is it that she’s scared of their noise? Would appreciate as much info on this as you can give,as I’ve been thinking about applying to adopt her. ThanksFebruary 17, 2009 at 10:48 am #83510jake n baileyMemberLeia came here last week into foster so I could see how she got on with my dog and mad kids ! She has settled in here as if she has always been here and is very good with everyone.Steff has done a briliant job on her coat and putting some weight on her, which is a struggle as she can only eat small amounts of food at a time and she is fussy. All she wants is her head and ears rubbed and she is in heaven !!For a dog who was so neglected She has the most placid nature with everyone. She follows me around the house and at night time, she lies on the mat in front of me watching my every move. She would be more timid than nervous ,so I have her bed in the corner of the kitchen where she goes if it gets too noisy. The minute she see s me putting on my coat to go for a walk ,she becomes a different dog and gets so excited and full of confidence. We all love her and would love to make this be her forever home.
