Kimba came into fostercare with us on Saturday afternoon and she is the loveliest little dog imaginable. I know looks aren’t important – but I can’t help thinking how beautiful her coat is and how cute her little face is. More importantly her personality is magic. She is very easy going with the cat – it seems like he is invisible to her. The cat (Flynn) doesn’t know what to make of her. I hope they become friends – that’s a possibility.
Kimba is quiet little girl generally. She was very timid on day one – she hid for an hour or so and needed to be coaxed to joins us on the couch. But when she did she just loved the attention and snuggled up for more. This morning it was so great to see how her confidence has grown, she bounced up the stairs to say hello in the morning and was bounding about playfully. Then she went and hid behind the couch again! She is slowly coming out of her shell despite herself.
She is great on the lead and great in the car. More updates soon…

    :)

Lovely to see new pictures of Kimba and to get an update. I’m happy to hear she’s settling in to her new foster home so well.

She looks very content and pretty on that couch.

How is she with other dogs, in general?

More updates and photos, please?! :)

Hi All – Kimba seems to be great with other dogs. I walk a pitbull every day and for the first time myself and my partner walked the two of them together recently – and they walked along happily together – they basically ignored each other. Also I take Kimba to the green around the corner – she is always on the lead, as the green is not enclosed – but all the other dogs aren’t and it’s clear that she wants to play sometimes – and she happily sniffs and says hello – so I as far as I can tell she is great with other dogs. I will try her indoors with another dog over Christmas (my sister in law has a lovely young collie springer cross) so I will update on how that goes in due course.

Kimba is now very happy and relaxed in our company but she can be nervous with new people – it’s totally managable – they just have to sit down and say hello quietly and very quickly she is won over and wants to be with no one but them! It’s funny. However as young children don’t always understand the notion of taking it slowly with slightly nervous dogs I think she would not be suited to a home with children under 13.

As you can see from these photos Kimba is very sociable once she gets to know everyone in the group. We have taken her to friends houses, Christmas markets and the local pub this Christmas – the fact that Kimba is so adaptable is great – because we can take her everywhere.
