Jetta came to stay with us yesterday thanks to Claire. She’s a bundle of love! Totally exuberant in a manageable sort of way. She is a wiggly friendly puppy and is having lots of fun with her squeaky toys and playing tug of war with Max. They get on great. We went to the park today and she played in the dog park with a husky and had lots of fun.
She doesnt seem to be a big digger in the garden which is good because we have enough craters as it is. If you leave the house she’s up at the window looking out and giving a little whine.
I put her bed, blanket and toys in the crate last night and put her in. She was a little resistant and whined for about 5 minutes and then there wasnt a peep out of her until the morning. She can probably sleep outside of a crate no problem but I didnt want the two dogs to get up to too much mischief in the kitchen because I had a lot of things on the counters.
She seems to be housetrained – no accidents in the house. She did come with a cat warning and we have a cat and we have had to separate them after the initial meeting which was a bit frantic. the cat was on the table and didnt give Jetta much of a chance before lashing out and then it all got a bit out of control. I will work with the two – I think in this case it was the cat more at fault than the puppy.
Jetta is a lovely looking puppy, long legged, not that large, certainly not as heavy as say a lab puppy of the same age. She will make a fun loving family pet. She’s light as a feather on the lead. I’ll get some photos up asap.February 15, 2011 at 9:04 pm #103783livMemberLittle Jetta is just fine. She is a good walker on the lead and was very brave when the DART barriers came up and it was so scary. She didnt want to walk toward the tracks after the train went by but she did.
She has been driving the cat mental and the cat has been holed up on the roof and on top of the kitchen cabinets. If anyone is looking for a fun loving little girl, you could be doing my cat a big favour!
Not a peep out of her during the night.

Big thanks of course to both her foster families for helping her get to this next chapter of her life. They were there when she needed it most.

February 21, 2011 at 2:58 pm #104160livMemberWe are so happy for Jetta – she has been keeping Max on his toes, in fact on our walks she sometimes starts playing with his feet. Last night she kept going to the back door to go out, and then run over and jump onto a chair so that she could look in the window. She did this half a dozen times, going out into the rain, jumping on the chair and then looking in. Poor little thing. I kept trying to reason with her but you know puppies…
February 22, 2011 at 5:59 pm #96337livMemberJetta drove off this afternoon with her new family – she will really love playing with the boys and helping to watch after the baby. She can look forward to weekends at the beach and lots of fun.
February 24, 2011 at 11:12 am #103299LuHMemberJetta aka Jess now has settled in really well, we have been out throwing ball for her a couple of times and she is getting the hang of bringing the ball back not so much dropping though but that will come. She has a little separation anxiety but I hope that will go as she settles in more over the coming weeks.
A big thank you to all her foster mums & dad, she is really a great dogs thanks to you
I will keep you all posted.
March 18, 2011 at 11:37 am #104233LuHMemberWe have Jetta (now known as Jess or my shadow) for 4 weeks now and she is coming along well. I am in the middle of training her and she is doing great. We have discovered fetch is her fav game and will do anything for a ball. She also loves to chew and sometimes its not her toys but the kids toys or socks ! but hopefully she will grow out of it !!!! She has a bit of separation anxiety but we are working on that.
She has made loads of new friends who we frequently meet on our walks and gets a good run around with them. All in all she is doing great and we are happy to have her
Here are few photo’s,
