I arrived home yesterday to find this little lady literally jumping for joy! She was dying to have a play and she kept waking maggie up from her snoozes so that they could play tug of war with a squeaky ball. She’s hilarious! I’ve never seen a dogs tail wag so fast before in my life! She really is a happy content dog & she’s eating properly out of her bowl now. At the start, she was very nervous about going out the back garden or making much noise – now she’s running out the door & making it known when she wants in again !!!
We’re taking her to get neutered tomorrow – so i’m sure we’ll have a sad little doggie for a few days but hopefully she’ll be back bouncing around the place in no time!
She sends big kisses & hugs to you & your family LindaApril 30, 2010 at 8:01 am #97570cathyoconnMemberJessie just keeps getting better and better. She was neutered on Wednesday & is wandering around with a bucket on her head at the moment. It’s taken her a while to get used to the dimensions of it
I have to say though – her personality just keeps improving. She is so comfortable with us now that she is very gentle – she lets us pick her up & although I wouldn’t be completely comfortable letting her play with young children, I think there is definitely room for improvement there. She is much less possessive than before & is going around with her tail held high!
She is brilliant on the lead – she’s just happy to walk along beside you – not pulling at all & interested in everything around her. She’s still a little nervous of new people and dogs – but that doesn’t last too long before she’s over looking for a play and a rub!
I’ll put up some more pictures laterMay 1, 2010 at 6:55 pm #97634cathyoconnMemberPics as promised! Jessie really is a happy happy dog these days Whoever is lucky enough to adopt this cutie is going to get a lot of love from her!
May 1, 2010 at 7:12 pm #97635kaydoyleMemberWe met this little angel today and wow what a transformation She is a gentle little girl who will make someone very happy. She is a credit to you Cathy – well done
May 3, 2010 at 10:33 am #97721meherenowMemberOh my she is such a little beauty I think I’m falling in love
with her just by her pictures!May 5, 2010 at 8:35 am #91532cathyoconnMemberJessie is doing great! She is more and more relaxed every day she’s with us. We’re picking her up much more & she hardly snaps anymore. She’s much more gentle & all she needs is someone to trust. Once she trusts you 100%, there’s nothing this girl won’t do. She’s still very nervous with strangers, but she just needs a little socialisation to sort this out. she loves cuddles & keeps coming back for more. If you want to know anything else about her personality just ask! Hopefully she’ll be getting the bucket off her head & stitches out on Saturday
May 9, 2010 at 10:11 am #97922cathyoconnMemberWe brought Jessie up to Marley Park yesterday to the big Doggie Day Out for the DSPCA & she got on Great – loved having a sniff at all the other dogs & just thrived on the attention that she got – loads of kids running over to pet her. She got the bucket off her head aswell so she’s really happy now. Here some more pics of her!
May 9, 2010 at 8:32 pm #97950meherenowMemberOh that’s great to hear! Had a homecheck on sat so all going well, i maybe able to organise to see some dogs soon ( well jessie and jasper)
May 9, 2010 at 10:39 pm #97953IndiannaMemberWell heck!!! What a MASSIVE difference the most recent images are, from the ‘mucky mop’ we first saw to the latest photos of a happy, happy little dog. She really does laugh in the photos, probably can’t believe her luck. I know her original owner wasn’t cruel to her but I and no doubt many others are very happy for Jessie, she is certainly living in a different world.
May 10, 2010 at 8:14 pm #97989cathyoconnMemberI just couldn’t resist – I got this gorgeous picture of her today & it just melts your heart! She really had come out of her shell as well as her old coat of matted hair. All the care she’s gotten since she came into the care of Dogs in Distress is just brilliant & it’s brought her to the happy little dog she is today. On behalf of Jessie I just thought I’d thank everyone for all their good wishes & help. I know her forever home is just around the corner – all she needs is a patient loving owner & she’ll give you all the loyalty & snuggles you could ask for.
Poser!
Snoozing on the couch with Maggie
May 11, 2010 at 11:44 am #98027IndiannaMemberThe photo of Jessie looking at the person viewing the image is beautiful, the sleeping one is also cute but the first of the recent ones is spectacular, you should enter that into a competition, you never know!
May 11, 2010 at 4:59 pm #98029Linda8MemberThanks for the lovely photos Cathy. Its great to see how well Jessie is coming along. Its going to be one lucky family, whoever decides to adopt this little girl as she has so much love to give. The kids send her a big hug and could you give her one from me too, of course
May 15, 2010 at 9:06 pm #86856jenbearMemberI met Cathy, Jessie and Maggie for a walk last week with my boyf and former DID pup Ollie (aka PJ). I had the pleasure of holding her lead and she walks really well on the lead. She’s a little beauty too.
This is the best pic I got of the three dogs having a drink in the river, they just kept moving…
May 17, 2010 at 11:18 am #98193cathyoconnMemberJessie is such a funny little dog! She absolutely LOVES her walks – her tail just goes crazy wagging. She has no problems interacting with other dogs & loves to have a roll around in the grass. As soon as she smells something interesting, she just has to have a roll
She’s getting really comfortable now & if she ever gets bored she gives a little growl & bark to say ‘come on – throw me a ball or something’!
She is really interacting well with everyone she meets – the only time we have to be careful of her now is when she is sleepy – we think she has nightmares or something, so we just don’t let her fall asleep on the couch – other than that she is a really lovely dog who will make someone very very happy! Everytime we leave the house she sits at the window & waits for us to come home! She’s such a sweetheart! I just hope she finds someone to give her a forever home soon so that she can finally settle somewhere – she’s been through so much already.May 19, 2010 at 7:27 pm #96062cathyoconnMemberHere’s some more pics of the lovely Jessie.
