after talking to the (really really) nice Kathy we think Jay may be a little to big for our circumstance (long story). we are watching the D.I.D forum closely so maybe our forever dog is waiting in the shadows somewhere. we are also checkng irishanimals.ie and other dog rescues, D.S.P.C.A etc while we wait to see if we get full home approval

Jay has settled in well and we already feel like he is part of the family. We have a very large field below our house and every evening when I get home from work I bring himself & Bonnie down there. They spend about 30 minutes running at full pelt. Jay runs up to Bonnie for a chase and Bonnie then legs it after him . He is like a little rabbit he is so fast, twisting and turning and changing direction although Bonnie is usually literally on his heels!!!!!When Jay first arrived he wasn’t that into cuddles & kisses etc- i think he was thinking- jesus will you ever leave me alone but now he is just loving it… he will jump up on the couch beside me and roll over on his back for a belly scratch

love the patch on the top of his head too, so cute !October 21, 2010 at 8:40 am #101998carlylongMemberJust a little update & more pix of Jakey.
A friend of ours is really interested in adopting Jake and has filled out the adoption papers and is now awaiting a home check. I will be SO sorry to see Jake go, He is my first foster dog and I never thought for a second I would get so attached so fast. I know I have to let him go so I can foster more dogs but its going to be tough!!
Jakeyboy.jpgOctober 21, 2010 at 5:38 pm #102012julesmMemberCarly I had my first foster Odie for nearly 4months and I swear I thought we could never give him up, but hes now with Conor and his new foster sister Sam and he is so happy. I also swore we would take a break after him and now we have Yazz, a sob story Kathy sent me only one day later! The initial few days are horrible but remember he will be in a home that loves him as much as you do! And hes a beautiful dog, who couldn’t love him!
October 22, 2010 at 8:56 am #102024carlylongMemberThanks Julesm, I know its best for him but I just love him! I actually think my girl Bonnie (GS) loves him even more so we will really miss him. He is just the gentlest boy. I bawled when I heard we had someone who is interested in adopting him but your right, its for the best! Hopefully it gets easier to let them go, although Im not so sure!

Well this is one spoilt, well looked after boy!!! He is living the high life in Naas with this family. Gets groomed every 6-8 weeks, gets special dinners cooked for him…. he has landed on his feet!!!!
Jake.jpgMarch 7, 2012 at 11:49 pm #108819DID RescueKeymasterThat’s great news thanks for the update.
I am sure you were delighted to see him again and to see how much he has grown up and progressed.
The emotions of being a foster mum are difficult but so rewarding -
