Our very own Oki Sky loves her agility every Sunday and is in her 1st Competition today….good luck

photo (36).JPGI am still smiling with pride at my little Oki Sky today! We have been going to agility classes in Dublin Dog Training for just over a year now and Oki Sky just loves it. Her confidence has improved so much and we decided to enter the show on Sunday for a change of scenery
We were eliminated from all 3 of our rounds
Once for having a little play when we were supposed to be doing our course, once because I forgot the way and decided to run my own version of the course and finally because we were just exhausted from the excitement of the day and thought it much easier to run under the fences than over them but I left with a smile on my face as if we had won first place. She was so relaxed all day and was so happy and confident despite being in such a busy place with so many strange dogs and people milling around. I started the agility as a way of socialising Oki with people and other dogs to try and show her that she had no need to be nervous around new things and I never imagined that just one year on we would be entering a competition. We are officially hooked now so watch this space!!
I had to register her in order to be able to enter the show and part of this included picking her ‘show name’ so her official competition name is ‘Miss Sky Jones’. Sky for her DID name when Kathy fostered her and Jones in memory of the fab Mr. Jones.
Also at the show was Yvonne and Eric who is another DID Happy Ending. They did fantastic and were great to watch running the course together.
Sol who is in foster with Caoimhe also popped by to say hello . . .he is a gentle cuddly soul and was not phased at all by the crowds. I traded a few treats for a cuddle with him!!
4 Years today since I collected my little Oki Sky from Kathy!! Say it every year but really where is the time going!!
