January 5, 2010 at 7:18 pm #92313IndiannaMemberLovely pictures. Holly is a lucky little dog to have found her way to you but she deserves it after her recent life.

January 7, 2010 at 8:34 pm #92465dogsareusMemberHolly with her new toy teddy, bet there’ll be nothing left of it tomorrow she’s really starting to come out of herself today and her personality is starting to show. We’re all thrilled to have her.
January 7, 2010 at 8:43 pm #92468JennyMemberHolly looks terrific – so glad to hear she’s settling down – hope that little personality doesn’t produce too many surprises
January 8, 2010 at 3:04 am #92481jojo20Memberholly thinks she won lotto look at her face
lucky her ta have you guys……..well done!January 8, 2010 at 7:54 am #92487IndiannaMemberIts so nice to see great photographs of Holly starting to find her feet. So what if she is a bit naughty – she is a Jack Russell and they ARE naughty, but very affectionate and great companions. Very happy you have taken her on, good people.
January 11, 2010 at 6:21 pm #86965dogsareusMemberSo glad that Holly can now be found in the ‘Happy Endings’ section rather than Foster Care!! Kathy & Co came out today to give her her vac & chip – she was very good while it was being done and to celebrate we brought her down to the pet shop and got her a new coat – as we gave the Dogs in Distress one we had for her back today
All agreed she looked much better and she was her usual friendly self with our visitors – Kathy tried to get a pic of her but she was camera shy as usual.I’ll try to get a pic of her in her new coat and post it.
All that is left now is fro her to be spayed which is happening on Friday and then she’ll be fine!!Thanks again to Kathy and everyone in D.I.D. for all their fantastic support with Holly over the past couple of weeks

January 26, 2010 at 12:00 pm #93114dogsareusMemberHi everyone – Holly is doing very well – she has been neutered and had her stitches out yesterday. She has put on some weight so looks healthier now and is full of fun and affection. She is generally very good however, in the last week she has taken to barking her head off when she goes to bed for the night. She sleeps in the bathroom which is next door to my daughters bedroom ( we live in a bungalow) and its stopping us all going to sleep. She used to just go in, scratch at the door once or twice and then go asleep but now she has started this Any ideas as to what I can do to stop the barking? She has plenty of walks and is kept busy during the day so I would assume she would be tired by the time we go to bed….
January 26, 2010 at 12:13 pm #93115jojo20MemberOh its so hard when sleep is getting broken, i feel your pain! Sometimes instead of getting better they get more confident and become more vocal Believe me i know after a few nites on couch beside dog bed just to grab a few hrs sleep.
At the DID Talk this lady gave advice on some behaviours and she is so helpful iv already emailed her. So give Tara a try for best advice.

January 26, 2010 at 12:19 pm #93116IndiannaMemberHow nice to hear about Holly. She obviously wants to be with her people at bed time. I am not in a position to advise as my lot sleep in my room but there are plenty of very experienced people checking this site so I am sure lots of good advice will flood in soon.
February 16, 2010 at 9:41 am #94102dogsareusMemberHi all,
Quick update on Holly, she has stopped the barking – I leave her in the living room at night now and she seems to be happy there so no barking. She looks great – has put on some much needed weight and is loving the cuddles on the couch she gets every evening.
We took her for a long walk on the beach last saturday, she loved running along in the sand but didn’t seem to like the water too much at all – mind you it was freezing and she is a very intelligent dog . She tends to cry in the car a lot, and as we will be bringing her to Dingle on our Summer holidays in July I am trying to take her out in the car often so she gets used to it. I don’t fancy a five hour drive with her crying in the back seat
She is a great addition to our family – so thanks Dogs in Distress !!
