I love reading about Hallie and Baxter – your updates are so colorful
August 21, 2011 at 12:58 am #106090DID RescueKeymasterI would bet my life on that she is a Wheaten Cross Terrier.
Now that she has grown more hair and filled out.
Glad she is doing so well and settling in and thanks to Bax teaching her how to be a dog.
Well done all roundSeptember 15, 2011 at 11:29 am #106399MaglouMemberThanks for your comments guys. I am interested, Twist, to hear what you say about Hallie’s origins. I must look up Wheaten Terrier. She is a funny little mixture alright. I think she has a bit of a Fox Terrier about her head with her long face and her forward pointing ears. Maybe that’s the other bit of the cross!
Hi Aggie, love the pics of Trinity, she is such a beauty and really reminds me of Bax with her gorgeous black glossy looks and her knowing expression!
Must get the pics up of these two soon!October 10, 2011 at 11:54 am #106571MaglouMemberOur gorgeous little Hallie passed away on Saturday evening and we are devastated.
She went to sleep and never woke up. We don’t know what happened except to say that she was in a normal sleeping position and looked so peaceful. She had developed into a really happy and contented little dog and was so easy to look after yet such great company and so funny. I like to think we gave her a happy and loving home.
My poor Baxter is a lost soul and I know he misses her.
I wrapped her in her little lambswool blanket and Bax gave her a kiss and watched as we buried her in the garden under a special laburnum tree between our beautiful Paddy and Gaby. They will look after her now.
RIP little Hallie Boo, we loved you dearly X

October 10, 2011 at 12:12 pm #106598TrinityMemberI`m so sorry to hear about your loss. Run free little Hallie. You got to live life to full extent with your loving family xxx
October 10, 2011 at 12:41 pm #106611IndiannaMemberTerrible news. At least Hallie was part of a loving pack (family) and she had time to enjoy all the great things you gave her. I feel sorry for you, your family and especially Bax. Time will bring a new order and I really hope that in time, you will feel able to offer a safe, loving home to another needy dog.
October 10, 2011 at 1:01 pm #106628ColganFamilyMemberI am so sorry to hear of the passing of little Hallie. Losing a pet is the hardest thing. Try to remember all the good times she had with you and what a happy end of life she enjoyed. Thinking of you.
October 10, 2011 at 7:03 pm #106584MaglouMemberThank you so much everybody for your replies and kind words.
It really means a lot when you are mourning the loss of a beloved pet. It’s comforting to know that there are others out there who understand that it’s not ‘just a dog’ but a member of your family.
Hallie was such a little sweetheart and I can’t believe she’s gone.
She is sorely missed by us all.October 10, 2011 at 7:46 pm #106629LuvMyFurKidsMemberPoor Hallie the little soul knew a great life with you and your family and the best brother a dog could have in the beautiful Baxter. She is running free at Rainbow’s Bridge now telling everyone of the special family she found.

MonaOctober 11, 2011 at 8:36 pm #106646clairefMemberI am so sorry to hear of Hallie, so sudden. Only for you and your family Hallie may never have known a kind loving home and although all too soon what a wonderful home she found in yours. I loved the Hallie and Baxter updates as they really tell of two dogs who truly found their place in this world. Fate intervened and you found the two dogs who needed you the most. It is so clear they are appreciated for their unique personalities and gifts. Am thinking of you all at this time.
The risk of love is loss, and the price of loss is grief. But the pain of grief is only a shadow when compared with the pain of never risking love.
October 11, 2011 at 8:48 pm #106647dogsruleMemberI’m so sorry for your loss, what a lovely dog and a precious gem for the brief time you shared together.
October 11, 2011 at 10:43 pm #106657MaglouMemberThank you so much Mona for your lovely words, it means so much and clairef I said the same thing yesterday. You know you are taking a risk to love a creature so much but if you don’t risk it you don’t get the joy it brings and without love life is nothing.
Bax is getting so much extra love right now and he has given us so much. Hallie might have been only a little girl but she has left a big hole. She was a precious gem dogsrule.
I missed her so much on our walk tonight, trotting along behind so she didn’t get bashed by Bax’s sticks. She had it worked out so well.
She loved her walks and queued up with Bax to have her collar put on at the front door. She was a real little darling and even ended up being friends with our two cats.
I just hope she didn’t suffer but by the looks of things she just fell asleep and knew no more.October 13, 2011 at 6:38 am #106676bazbarneyMemberMy heart goes out to you at this sad time. I followed little Hallie with great interest and when she first appeared on the site, was sorely tempted to make enquiries but you had beaten me to it! You gave her a truly lovely life and she couldnt have asked for a better parent!
Run free little girl……..
