So glad Fernando/Baily has settled so well and has a small doggy friend. He is a very lucky little dog after such a rough start in life.

    Merry Chrimbo to you all!

Twiggy stills rules the roost despite his troublesome little legs, but Bailey well able to hold his own in the rough and tumble. Bailey is definitely better with the eating but still feels the need to run from his dish if anyone happens to pass while he eats also takes food out of the dish and hides to eat it. I’m sure that will change when he gets more confidence. Also still hides when you want to pick him up for going outside or at bedtime.

We still have some issues with the toilet training. He has no idea yet about asking to go out and if not watched will wee and poo wherever is handy. Difficult over the snowy time. Had to keep clearing a path for them to ‘go’ and it was usually done within 4 inches of the back step. Who would blame them in that cold.

They are such fun and play happily together and look for each other when one or the other goes out of a room. Also usually end up on the same lap together. They are two great little characters, chalk and cheese. One full of madness and fun (Twiggy) the other a quiet refined gentleman (Bailey). I am beginning to think Bailey is quite a bit older than first thought. Far too quiet for 1 1/2 years, which would have him more or less the same age as Twiggy.
Maybe he is quiet because of all the disruption in his life and will suddenly join in the mayhem of Twiggy’s world. They are great little fellows and loved to bits. Thanks again Kathy for everything.
    Will keep you posted.

Quick update on the boys. They are in great form. Bailey has put on a little weight (he was quite skinny when he came home) which I am delighted with and he is now loving his food. Wouldn’t eat much at all when we first had him.

Taking Twiggy to see the vet again for an opinion on his back right leg as it is still a little off kilter even after the op. Still it’s so much better than it was and the left one is great. The legs certainly don’t stop him he is so lively and playful, runs mad all over the house and loves wrestling with Bailey.
Quick mention about a missing chihuahua. I met a lady in my vets who had lost her brown (red) and white little lad on Dollymount beach. Felt so bad for her. If anyone reading this has seen or heard of one being found if you contact Dogs in Distress I can give her details. Can only imagine how I would feel if either of my two little boys went missing.

Sorry didn’t have a pic of that dog but hope by now it is back home. Twiggy has had his 3rd op the 2nd one on the right leg. Fingers crossed all will go well this time. Couldn’t bare to put him through this ordeal again. Don’t know who feels worse him or me. He is such a little tyke. But heals quickly and is happy once back home from the vet’s. Paul has been great with him. Must be so difficult to do op on such little legs. Great vet and so good with Twiggy. I really appreciate it and the help for D.I.D. Couldn’t do it without them.

Baily :D : is doing so well. Great now with going into the great outdoors to ‘do his buisness’. Very quick to please but still a little nervous. Runs away at times when you try to stroke him or lift him up. Wont come up close to you when he is called, even for a treat. Also doesn’t like the stroking to continue on down to his tail. Wonder was it pulled on a regular basis  . I’m sure he will come around to understanding he is totally safe here eventually. Just needs patience and a gentle touch. We have loads of time, so no problem. He has put on weight now and the little collar he came with wont fit anymore. His coat is in much better condition and I’m sure Kathy wouldn’t know him if she saw him now. :) Loves his food but still takes it from the dish to bed to eat on occasions and runs away from the dish if anyone passes. I try to feed him when there is no one else around and give him the quiet he needs :?
Two great little guys, wouldn’t be without them.
