February 20, 2010 at 10:21 pm #94306martinacMembermy brother in law had this guy out today. He was quite nervous and seemed out of sorts totally! he is still obviously getting used to the pound but demanded only some reassurance to build his confidence,. He has a very unusual face for a boxer!! I sure hope his owners find him as feel he is missing the a lot!!
February 21, 2010 at 12:39 pm #94324YvonneMMemberI had Donnie out twice today. He was delighted to relieve himself once we hit the grass, once he had done his business he had a right pep in his step. I patted and chatted away to him, he looked at me like he wasn’t really sure what I was doing, didn’t appear to have received a lot of cuddles or rubs in the past. This changed totally for our second walk. He wagged his tail, I got licks, then he jumped up for a hug and kiss. He is excellent on the lead, doesn’t pull at all, not a giddy bouncy boxer. He whimpered to say hello to the other dogs. He was fine with them, he is an intact male, he probably wouldn’t like to be challenged by another male, but was fine to sniff noses and say hello. He really liked the other two boxer sisters so he’d be in his element with the ladies! He’s not a big boy at all, could do with some conditioning. He has pressure sores on his back legs. Another fella I reckon was stuck outside. He came across as a gentle soul

March 2, 2010 at 8:33 pm #94593tiggerMemberI spent time with Donnie at the weekend and he is just a heartbreaker. Life has not been kind to him and he wears the marks of neglect all over his thin body. I feel he may be being overlooked in the pound by potential owners because he isn’t in good shape. I have a boxer I rescued a few years ago who was in much worse shape than Donnie and yet within a few short months of good food and tlc he was transformed and so could Donnie. Despite this he is a really placid and gentle boy who would not be demanding in any home. He walked along by my side just glad to be out in the fresh air and he loved a bit of affection. He has been on my mind all week but unfortunatly I am not in a position to foster at the moment.
March 2, 2010 at 9:02 pm #94574YvonneMMemberTigger I am the same, I walked him the weekend before last, twice that day. He progressed so much since his first time out to the second walk. I have a super soft spot for him. He is a cracker and would blossom in a home environment. He is a mellow guy, excellent on the lead with really great manners. Not an exhuberant bouncy boxer, very manageable. He is very good with the other dogs too. Not a big guy even with more body condition he won’t be a large boxer. Poor pet. Love him and the boxer sisters…
