Thats a relief, so happy for you and Des.
Delighted to hear that Des has plenty of Doggie Days ahead of him
That’s brilliant about Des, he’s a fine looking lad and very strong I’d be thinking. He’ll be over the worst of it now soon. That’s mad about the slug thing, I’ve seen the leaflets at the vets about the parasites in snails..we’ve loads of slugs in our garden.
How is Des?
Sorry I’ve not updated Des’ page in a while, we have been really busy!
Des is coming along leaps and bounds, he is doing so well. He loves going to Doggie Daycare in Dog Training Ireland and it really has helped with his confidence, he can still be a little shy & can get a little stressed at times, but this is coming under control. He finds it hard to know what to expect from us humans.
His health is great and his fitness has improved no end, its amazing to see him running around like a lunatic with his little sister Penny, who gives him as good as he gives
I am doing a Train the Dog Trainer course at the moment and have decided to use Des as my study for my practical-he is doing so well, he is a VERY clever fellow, he already has done 3 behaviours in less than 2 weeks, amazing! He enjoys the attention and loves his walk, but I think his two biggest loves are his ball and Penny!
We have also welcomed another little fur baby into our home, Bonnie, she is an 8-10 year old Cavalier King Charles who was rescued from a puppy farm, God bless her she is in bits, but with a lot of TLC, she too will come around. Des isn’t bothered by her and he does love to play with her, although her energy doesn’t last long, they seem to have fun. It was very cute, the first night we had her home with us, she was a bit unsettled as she was unused to being indoors, humans, other dogs (she lived in a concrete pit 6ft x 6ft all her life!!
) Des cuddled up beside her and just gave her a couple of licks as if to say ‘I know buddy, this is all very strange, but you are in good hands, we will all mind you, there’s nothing to worry about’, later that night when I went to check on them, all 3 were curled up in Des’ bed, both Penny & Bonnie using Des as a pillow!
Here’s a few new photos of Des, I think you will agree,he doesn’t look like the same fellow that was in the pound;
