This morning we became the proud new foster parents of both Deelo and Daisy and what beautiful puppies they are. Deelo is a big boy, hard to believe that Daisy is his sister, she is so tiny beside him. Already I can see that Deelo was born to be a leader! He’s doing his best to boss our very confused little Bischon around, he’s really enjoying running around the garden, climbing into the flower beds, sniffing everything, barking, getting lots of cuddles and then … back to sleep again! We only have him here a few hours but already I can see that he’s a very clever little boy, he comes when he’s called and even responds to ‘sit’!!! I for one am suitably impressed!

Day 2 with Deelo in our home and I couldnt be more impressed, he really is a smashing dog.
He’s incredibly handsome, big in size with a strong Lab style body accompanied with the features of a Spaniel, big black floppy ears, beeee-ooo-tiful eyes and a white forehead/nose with black markings on it, just lovely!
I expected to be disturbed during the night with having 2 puppies sleeping for their first night downs stairs but we had no problems at all. Having put them out to go to the toilet first, we went up to bed about 11 ish and slept through to 7am this morning when the alarm went off – we couldnt believe it! And as if that wasnt impressive enough, we had no little accidents waiting for us in the kitchen! Both dogs had used the newspapers we had left by the door, they really are smart and capable of great things.
I’ll post some more pics up later of this very handsome boy …….

Yes, I am repeating my self no doubt, but I cannot emphasise enough what a fantastic dog Deelo is – in fact if our Bischon Rocky showed any sign of liking him, even a teeeeeny bit, we’d keep him ourselves, he is just something special.
We had another good night last night. It was the dogs second nt in our house, and as they have got so much more comfortable and used to us now, I did expect a bit of commotion last night but not a peep. We are so lucky and then of course the welcome we get when we come in to the kitchen in the morning is just the funniest thing, 2 dogs somersaulting around you at 7am is a sight to behold!!
Im amazed at how well the toilet training is going with Deelo. We have not yet had an accident. I put them out into the garden at regular intervals for some exercise and he tends to go to the toilet then, otherwise he’ll go to the newspapers so big gold star for him. I would think, given time, he could be an extremely well trained dog, he’s very responsive and absolutely laps up praise.
As I’m preparing to sign off, Im just looking over at him now, fast asleep on the couch, ooooooh he’s just fab!
Big deelo, little daisy!

Wow, Deelo made it on to the main page of the Website!!! Such a little celebrity!! ![]()
I really love this guy!! I got to meet him briefly a little while ago, and I could not get over the size difference between him and his siblings!! He was still tiny, but just in
comparison to the others..was very funny to see!!
Some great photos of him, I love the one with himself and Daisy leaning on each other..VERY cute!
Another pic…

I took the above pic yesterday but only got a chance to upload it today, isnt he gorgeous! Call me biased but he really is the most handsome dog and finally I think I have a pic that does him justice!
Both Daisy and Deelo are doing great with the toilet training. No accidents at all today, just 2 little wees on the newspaper by the door when I came back this morning having been out for a while, they really are clever little things.
Deelo has such a huge appetite, I hope Im not feeding him too much! Initially I had the two dogs eating together from the same bowl but as Deelo horses it down in a matter of seconds I had to get a 2nd bowl and let Daisy eat hers seperately as Im not sure she was getting very much at all! What impressed me very much with Deelo was that when he was finished eating he started to try eat from Daisys bowl with her but I held him back and wouldnt let him – instead of possibly getting irritated and cross he continued wagging his tail and licking me while I held him tight until Daisy had finished hers too – what a good, not so little, doggy!
They’re both smart little dogs, learning new things all the time. Our own dog is still terrified of them and they havent spent much time together at all which is such a shame, but Im still hopeful – these are social little dogs who are just dying to make friends with Rocky!!
All is good with the gorgeous Deelo. We havent been able to take him for a walk yet as he is awaiting more vaccinations but this morning I gave both him and his sister their worming tablets. Theyre really so funny, they have fantastic appetites, I could have put poision inside a pce of cheese and I suspect they would have eaten it with enthusiasm!
Deelo is still boss when it comes to his sister, she follows him everywhere and sleeps on his back! He’s a great dog, such a shame our dog Rocky wants nothing to do with him because Daisy follows Deelo all day, and in turn Deelo follows Rocky and in return he gets …. nothing!!
Toilet training is coming along really well, we havent had an accident in days, Deelo will go to the back door if we’re beside him or else to the newspaper by the door. He’s a great little fella, I think he could be trained to do a great many things and I envy the forever family that gets to keep him ….

We have Deelo and Daisy a week now and they’re both settled, happy and lovely as ever!
Deelo remains boss, he’s the dominant character of the duo, capable, clever and smart. He’s so full of fun and mischief, but also so affectionate, he loves nothing more than going asleep on someones knew while having his floppy ears rubbed.
Sometimes I forget how young he is (approx 10 wks now), he’s such a sturdy, well built dog. I imagine he’ll be a fine size when he’s fully grown and if his appetite is anything to go by, he should reach his full potential!!
Because he’s a big dog but still got all the energy of a puppy I imagine he would suit a house with older children. My youngest is 6 and when he jumps up on her he could almost knock her over, of course as he gets a little older and learns what he is and isnt allowed to do, this would probobly stop anyway.
He’ll be getting more vaccinations this week so our first walk looms – Ill keep you posted …..
Darling Deelo left us this afternoon to go to his new home. We were all so sad to say goodbye to him, he has a larger than life personality and had very much become part of the family during his short stay with us. What makes saying goodbye so much easier though is the fact that Deelo has found the most fabulous family where I know he will be played with, exercised, loved and cherished as he deserves to be.
My warmest wishes to Deelo and his new family Finola, David, Jack and Eavan xxx
From Deelos family, hasnt he grown into such a handsome boy!!
Apologies about the delay, but I am forwarding photos of Deelo.
He has been great and has got so big. We followed the other D puppies good example and brought him to training at the DSPCA. They recognised him from Daisy and Darcy.
We found it very useful. Deelo absolutely loves food so behaves very well when there are treats In the offing. Not sure how well he will progress when we reduce the treats!Deelo 1.JPG
