This little girl is going into foster with Justine, who will update soon
coo.jpgNovember 22, 2012 at 6:50 pm #112716yoddyMemberCoco is the sweetest dog. I picked her up at the pound and brought her to Justine for fostering. She took a treat from me at the pound and it was licks all the way from then on. She let me carry her into the house and then she had a good sniff around and got into her bed. I’d say she’d be half the size if she got a good hair cut. Beautiful temperament – so sad to see a dog like her in the pound. I think she’ll be spoiled now for a while.

She’s remarkably easy going particularly as she has only just landed here. She is gentle, quiet, good on the lead, likes to sit up beside you on the couch and rested her head on my lap, and sat in her bed in the kitchen while I cooked the dinner. She is a dream foster – easy peasy. House trained too. She definately has sheltie in her – she has a slight little perkiness in her demeanor which is kinda typical of the breed…based on the one little sheltie I knew when I was 15…! I think Coco is about 5 – I don’t think she’s any older than that. Her muzzle isn’t greying as it appears in the photo – it’s just speckled white and brown. Her coat is in need of a good grooming but myself and John agree that she seems to be generally in very good health – bright eyes and alert.
December 7, 2012 at 12:43 am #112932justineemoeMemberWell Coco stayed with me for only a few days as unfortunately she and my cat didn’t mix well together. Coco was just too excitable when the cat was in the room – I just knew Coco plus cat was not going to work out.
So Coco went into foster care with my friend Catherine and is a big hit with her. I have visited a couple of times recently and took this snap tonight – not a great one – but Catherine has some better ones which I will post soon.
Coco is such a gentle, affectionate and also obedient little dog. She likes attention and to have lots of pets, but then she is happy to go for a little lie down in her basket while life goes on around her. She’s about 5 I think. Likes her walks, she is not particularly toy focused, she has no interest in balls or things that go squeak but has taken to an old slipper that she was presented with as a little chew toy. She is good in the car and is good with noise and people. She has been walked in the city centre and the luas went past and she didn’t blink an eye. She’s very adaptable and she has an extremely cuddly coat – she looks like a little barrel but she actually has a lovely thick brown coat – complete with highlights.
Hope to have more pics soon and a video in about a week… watch this space

coco2.JPGDecember 17, 2012 at 4:27 pm #112665yoddyMemberLovely photos of Coco. Justine, you thought cat and Coco might not get on and seems you were right! Great your friend is fostering her. It seems Coco’s personality hasn’t changed from she came out of the pound – sweet, laid back little lady. It would be great if she got her forever home – as I have 2 mad terriers, she was such a delight to spend time with (while I sat outside the wrong house waiting ) and was so gentle. Hope someone notices what a little beauty she is.

4 puppies B.jpgDecember 31, 2012 at 6:14 pm #113208Catherine28MemberHi all,
I’m Catherine- Justines friend, who fostered Coco for a wonderful couple of weeks.
I’ve only just seen these photos of Coco in her new home, and it looks like she had a great christmas, and so did the lucky foster family. She is one of the most lovable dogs I’ve ever met. I would have loved to keep her if it had been at all possible, but alas it couldnt be…
Its great to see her looking so relaxed and chirpy and with lots of new friends, and while I miss her, its makes me happy that she’s breaking in the new year in style, and you are enjoying her company as much as I did.
Best wishes for 2013 everyone,
CatherineJanuary 5, 2013 at 11:56 pm #113267doedoeMemberCoco was matted and we arranged for her to go to be groomed by Mary of the Wags Grooming Service in Bohermeen, Navan. Mary did an excellent job on Coco as she managed to detangle all her coat . Thanks to Mary who was very kind, Coco is now a stunner, with a beautiful soft coat and would make anybody a lovely pet and companion.
