Thanks everyone for your kind words. Charlie decided to adopt us
He fits in so well with all our dogs and he loves chasing a ball with Hamish. He has such a smiley face and he is so happy with us. We all love him and we felt we could not let him go…. He is very special. We would love to try agility with him as I think he would be amazing as he is so fast. We will continue to work with him to overcome his fears. I think our dogs will have the greatest impact on him and through them he will gain confidence.
He loves running into the sea so it’s very hard to keep Charlie white

October 6, 2013 at 12:10 am #117396angjoMemberThanks for all the good wishes, Charlie is doing well, full of beans He is very nervous about any new experiences but he is getting there. I will put up some pictures during the week. We had hoped to get him groomed last week but he was very nervous with the groomer so John is going to try to groom him under professional supervision as we don’t want him looking like the dog on the spec savers add..

Charlie is a big fan of the sea and runs in at any opportunity. We have started the grooming process and a lovely local lady has begun to work on Charlie’s locks. She was so good with him and saw beyond the frightened barking dog and she was rewarded by meeting the gentle little dog he is.
Charlie is growing in confidence and he is beginning to trust people more. He loves all my doggy gang and is very respectful of Charlie senior
It is amazing to see him starting to trust the people in our lives. I think our dogs have helped him and he is learning from them. Here are a few photos – one of the two Charlies

He had another trip to Kerry, he loves country life between the sandy beaches and country roads he loves all the different walks . He loves barking at the gate at cows, horses and any poor unfortunate who passes by. Charlie continues to improve, he is no bother with us at all. He still gets frightened if people come too close but it all takes time. His favourite walks are with John & Hamish, he loves chasing balls and stones. Here are our 5 DID dogs on patrol & two of Charlie displaying very good behaviour

We had visitors staying over Christmas and at first he barked at them but after a while he was jumping up licking them. So he is doing really well. He is very happy and full of mischief. He is so effectionate.
On a sad note our collie Charlie aged 20 years passed away last week. We are so desperately sad and we miss him so much. The house seems so empty with out him . He was so gentle and loving. The night he got ill all the dogs sat around him, I think they knew.. Hamish is particular quiet at the moment he misses his old pal. So it’s been a sad time for us I don’t think we will ever get over losing our boy. I got my husband a lovely canvas picture of Charlie and him, I have put up the picture..
All the dogs are in good form and kept every one entertained over Christmas. Season greatings to you all x

He is a high energy dog and requires very long walks which suits me just fine as we do great power walks. His favourite toy is a frisbee and his favourite dog friend is Hamish. He is still very nervous of people he does not know but loves Sandra the groomer in dogs zone .. Which is just as well as Bichons and salt water are a tricky combination
