Our darling little Carly had her second round of shots yesterday so we will be able to take her out walking by the weekend which we cannot wait to do. We haven’t done any lead training because we haven’t been able to take her walking so that will be something new and exciting for her to experience. She is absolutely loving this fine summer we’re having. We are spending a lot of time in the garden and she loves all the noises and smells and cats coming and goings, the bees buzzing in the flower beds. In the evening she has a little mad dash around the garden – through some bushes in the flower bed and round and round the garden. She is still a little darling and an endless source of amusement. She loves playing hide and seek with the tennis ball hidden behind the cushions on the couch, and sometimes just loves burying herself under the cushions on the couch. Photos attached.

We are so delighted that we can take Carly out for walks and she is really loving it too. I have come to realize how hard it is to lead train a dog when you have another dog running round looking like she is having the time of her life. Hence Carly just wants to be off lead and running with Ruby. We walk in very safe and secure areas so I have been able to take her off the lead but think I am going to have to start taking her out on her own specifically for lead training. But she is just a fabulous little girl and never strays far (unless Ruby goes chasing after some interesting noise which Carly also wants to investigate, and even then Carly will always come back first and quickly). Everyone who meets her comments on how incredibly adorable she is (firstly) and then on how calm she is for a puppy. Playful but without that manic jumping puppiness. Will take some photos on our walks and post them soon.

Hope you are enjoying your trips out and about. I am sure you are, please let us know how things are going now that you are big enough for outings.

Has been a while since I updated – the summer continues to be wonderful (mostly!) and Carly is absolutely loving it. She has completely and wholeheartedly gotten into going for walks. She is great when we meet other dogs – she is cautious so doesn’t go running madly up to strange dogs (I think that shows great sense and maturity on her part) but is always happy to make new friends. She has discovered swimming (mostly by accident) and enjoys a good potter around the river. She is so funny – she loves dashing around in long grass – almost playing hide and seek. But if the grass is too long she has to hop more like a kangaroo than a dog. The walks are not too long as she is still only 4 and a half or 5 months but they are always full of adventure for her. I have taken a bunch of photos but my phone is in the shop being repaired so I’ll have to wait to upload them (I will be distraught if any of them are lost. fingers crossed not).

    Is Carly available for adoption?

Are your walks expanding? Must be very exciting, exploring the world safely under the close watch of your foster family.

I am happy to finally be posting some more photos. Unfortunately the lovely shots I had taken of Carly on my phone were indeed lost when my phone went into the shop to be fixed (I hate losing any photos and these were gorgeous shots taken in the park and on the beach, there was even video of Carly and Ruby chasing birds on the beach and in the long grass in the park   ). So I have just had to take a whole bunch more – Carly is (still) a little darling. She loves exploring the outside world with her super guide Ruby. She has embraced swimming, she comes out looking incredibly scrawny and bedraggled, and loves climbing (rocks and trees – I think she is half goat). She is still a little scrap of a thing (hence her pet name Scrappy) but she is now the same size as our bigger cat (Mel – featured in earlier garden shot with Carly). She still steals slippers and shoes to sleep on (sometimes we wonder how she manages to fit herself into the bed with the two runners and slipper she has dragged into the bed for the night. She seems to love the company though.

:o Carly (Scrappy) just look at you up that tree  You are a terrier through and through :P Such brilliant images of you out and about. Right behind you (well, not up a tree), I mean following your progress. You, Suki, Bella and Deena are at the top of my current list but you are at the very top. It’s a Border Terrier thing I am afraid, not pure BT but I think there is some of that within ;)

I did check her original images when I saw her pointy ears. Must have a bit of GSD in her background, they also have ears that pop up between 5-8 months so spot on there Carly    You are such a little cutie, wonder how big you will be when you stop growing? Not big I suspect :?

Today is Scrappy’s last day with us before she goes to her new home. We are all heartbroken at saying goodbye to her, we all love her so much. But this is what we have chosen to do, to give as many lovely dogs as we can a chance, and as hard as it is to say goodbye we know she is going somewhere she will be equally loved and looked after and happy. So before we say goodbye to our darling -I thought I would put up a few more recent photos. x
