This little lady is in foster with Elsa who will update soon
DSC_0217 (2).jpgMay 29, 2014 at 4:05 pm #120534martemMemberThis little lady arrived a couple of weeks ago. We had our second foster dog, Rudi, with us at the time (he has since gone to his lovely new permanent home ). Carly got on fabulously with him and despite the size difference they would play and tussle for hours. We’re not sure if she had lived in a house before but she was not at all fazed. Her toilet training is coming on great. She has not learned to ask to go out but as long as we let her out regularly or the door is left open (great to be getting some nice weather) she will always go out to do her business. She is also completely dry at night (even though I put papers out just in case). She is one very clever, well behaved little girl. As a terrier the first time she met our cats she had to bark and rush up to them but now she is completely comfortable with them and even touches noses with our Black cat, Boo. We are all in love with her. I will post more photos soon.

DSC_0218.jpgJune 2, 2014 at 3:42 pm #120557martemMemberCarly has been with us for two weeks now and she is just a little darling. Like most puppies she loves playing, chasing balls and running manically around the garden in circles. She just makes us smile whenever we look at her bounding around with her little puppy bounce. She is even getting our older and somewhat sensible lady, Ruby, to join in and have a play fight with her. She is little anxious about her food and devours it as quickly as she can but she is not aggressive or protective about it and that is always a good sign. She has not had her injections yet so we cant take her out for walks- but we are really looking forward to being able to, we haven’t started any lead training because of this but she is such a clever inquisitive little girl that I hope she will take to it well. She has not had an accident in the house other than the first couple of days after she arrived, we take her out whenever she wakes from a nap and otherwise if the door is open she just goes out herself. She loves snuggling on our laps and sleeps happily there while I do my work on the computer. She is a little hot water bottle!!

June 8, 2014 at 11:10 am #120604martemMemberCarly is going for her first vaccination on Tuesday, we are all excited that soon (ok a couple of weeks) we will be able to take her out for walks and the all important lead training. She continues to be a gorgeous girl. She has a big personality but is not a completely mad puppy. She explores, runs around, chases the ball, loves a play with Ruby, who is at least 10 times her size but very gentle, and then lies down for a well deserved rest. She seems to have the sense to know when play time is over and if you want her to stop doing something saying ‘No’ or ‘Ahah’ usually works, she is a very clever pup. Like all puppies chewing is important for her but she hasn’t been in any way destructive. She steals shoes or slippers if she finds them lying around and brings them to her bed, but seems to be more interested in cuddling up to them than chewing them. She did chew off the two fluffy balls on the zipper of my fluffy slippers but I can understand that that was too much temptation to resist.

June 9, 2014 at 9:24 am #120611martemMemberThanks Indianna – Yes he is, isn’t he!! I’ll let him know you said so – he is sleeping cuddled up to Ruby’s back as I type – plum tuckered out from his morning chase the ball session.
June 10, 2014 at 11:55 am #120616IndiannaMemberWell, I am mortified I thought Scrappy was a girl not a boy. Goodness knows why so I apologise and apologise again. Sorry Scrappy (Carly), still think you are gorgeous
June 11, 2014 at 11:11 am #120624martemMemberDon’t be mortified Indianna, You were right. in fact I am absolutely mortified!! When we got Scrappy (Carly) I thought I was told it was a boy and then not paying attention continued calling the poor darling ‘he’ for two weeks (until she went for her vaccination yesterday and the vet said ‘well isn’t she a lovely girl’) So embarassed!! – despite all the belly rubs and the obvious evidence to the contrary I had simply believed she was a boy. Kathy kindly fixed up most of my old posts for me. So of Course Scrappy is a gorgeous girl and I need to get my hearing checked. Apologies to all for any confusion caused and especially to Scrappy!!
June 11, 2014 at 12:08 pm #120625IndiannaMemberScrappy will be far too busy being a puppy to give a hoot by our confusion She is a little beauty isn’t she
June 11, 2014 at 2:51 pm #120626McSheMemberSo sweet! So tiny! (And so funny the gender confusion). Equally gorgeous whether male or female
