instead of giving her all dog food you can add stuff like green beans or carrots for her dinner, my mum does this back home when their dog needs to go on a diet and their dog loves them, really helps him loose the weight. Glad she is settling in well!
hi ya,
good luck with Cara well done for rescuing her you two will have an amazing bond for life. i have a springer x and i just love love love the breed they are all rounder he loves water so swimmng really wears him out. when i got him first he got away from me when he spotted some deer and boy did he not come back i got a real surprise i have to say he has a high prey drive even now im cautious where i bring him. best of luck to you they are the best friends ever! ![]()
Hi Guys
Thanks for the good wishes and advice, will try her out with the veggies! Cut up tiny pieces of chicken into the dry food today and thought is was going down well until i discovered it was all eaten and the food was left behind!
Would love to show you all how happy she is, can anyone tell me how I add photos?
If you want to email me the pics I can put them up! ![]()
Hope she is doing well after her spay ![]()
Hi
Cara was spayed yesterday and we had a very sad girl here yesterday evening, she was sick repeatedly and really didn’t like her cone collar one bit ![]()
She curled up on the couch and had a good rest and today she is back on form and is no longer trying to take her collar off!
She had some Sardines today for her dinner and I must say they went down very well, same can’t be said for the Hills Science Plan that was left in the bowl, but we’ll persevere ![]()
Cara enjoying the high life at last!

Feeling a little sorry for herself (but still with a smile on her face!)
She will soon be back to bouncing around! ![]()

A big thanks to her new owners for giving her a fresh start ![]()
Great to see Cara (nee Sheena) is getting on so well,
Do you know anything of her past life
Caras owners (previously Sheena) unfortunately were working full time so felt that they could not give her the time and exercise she needed.
She was with them from a 6 week old puppy and their children loved her (hence great with children).
They made a very diffucult, but wise, decision by rehoming her as she is with a fantastic family now and being loved to death (and getting plenty of exercise!)
Cara is reserved to her foster family ![]()
Just wondering how Cara (formally Sheena) is doing,,, as the topic on her has seemed to have dried up…. ![]()
Hi
Thanks for asking after Cara. She is doing great, she is the most affectionate girl and everyone who meets her loves her.
Her adoption was finalised during the week and although we’ve only had her 3 weeks its like she has always been here. She has lost weight and is looking great, she is being spoiled of course and looks like she is constantly smiling! Food issues have been sorted and she is a big fan of Royal Canin now so its great to have her eating well too – a definite Happy Ending….
