Well this morning, for the first time since she arrived, Cali took her eyes off me long enough to find one of her many toys on the floor, take it off to a bed and play with it.
I could hear the playful little growl and the noise of the head shake and, when I went to investigate, there she was chewing and shaking for all it was worth!!!
I am SO thrilled because she has been so anxious to keep an eye on us she hasn’t taken the time to play (or chew or chase or. . . ). So, progress has been made. Last night, also, was the first night she didn’t howl when we went to bed and left her downstairs – she is beginning to trust that we WILL come back again when we leave. Great strides for such a little girlie!

You will have to rename Rossi as SAINT Rossi
. At least little Benson was only looking for snuggles but Cari here looked like she was about to say "giddy up" ![]()
A clever way to reach the food on the counter I must say. She’ll be fashioning reins from a lead next. Classic. Two very lucky foster pups ![]()
Our beautiful little angel had a "red letter weekend"!!! On Friday she met Olive and John and their two dogs – Poppy, a DID dog and Molly. It was absolute mutual love at first sight and by Saturday, I was drying my tears and getting my last hugs from our little princess.
Cali, who will now be called Lily, could not have wished for a better happy ever after and – sad as we are to say goodbye to her – we know she will have a wonderful new life with her fantastic new family.
Olive has promised loads of updates.
Be really happy, gorgeous girl.

Congratulations to Cali/Lily and her new family of humans and doggies! She’ll have a ball with Poppy and Molly – Lily won’t know who to sit on.
Don’t cry to many tears Colgan Family – if it wasn’t for your fostering and love, Cali might never have met her new family. ![]()

Lily joined our other DID dog, Poppy (formerly Gabby) in February and not a day has gone by since that she hasn’t made us laugh. She is the most happy go lucky little dog and when she is not chewing the undies or the socks or people’s jeans, she is the best little girl around. She is obsessed by water and the best way to keep her quiet is to fill a basin with some water and let her paddle to her heart’s content. She will spend an hour at a time patting the water with her paw and then chasing the ripples around the basin before climbing in and hooshing the water out! Herself and Poppy get on very well and there is a lot of wrestling and chasing round the house and garden. We have a big doggy toy box and Lily has adopted the Mr Penguin squeaky toy as her favourite. Poppy’s favourite is Mr Pig which is good as it means there is no row over toys. We lost our beautiful big rescue dog, Molly, five weeks ago at the age of 17. Having Lily and Poppy has been a great comfort, especially Lily as she carries on doing puppy things which always make us smile.1photo.JPG
