Brian is doing fantastic,he is such a gorgeous guy.Spoke to Kathy yesterday and we are really hoping to find his forever home here rather than put him threw anymore upset by sending him to the UK.He has settled in so well with my family, He is so gentle with my 4 year old and gets on great with my 2 dogs. He has definitely been a pet at some stage as is very well behaved, even gives the paw and understands basic commands,he doesn’t even bark :) I would really love to know how this poor fella ended up in the pound..cant understand why anyone that may have had him wouldn’t search high and low to get him back! I’m really hoping this guy finds the perfect forever home, he will make such a great addition to any family :D :D Linda

Just to say that we can help with Brian if you get stuck. Can of course understand the reluctance to put him through the transport to the UK, but most dogs arrive totally fine and we’d make sure he goes straight into a loving foster home, not kennels.

This lovely fella is still in foster with myself but am heartbroken to say its not looking too likely that this guy will find his forever home in Ireland :( :( There are so many wonderful dogs out there in need of a loving home so I know how hard it is to say how deserving this guy is when they all are really !!!
If anyone can think of a home he would be well suited to please get in touch. I would give anything to keep him myself but due to personal reasons I cant keep him long term and am gutted at the thoughts he might have to go to another foster home. I know he would be well looked after but he has been so much threw already…
He would be such a great addition to any family and would be such a loyal best friend to anyone. He has so much love to give so please please please if anyones knows of anyone at all who could offer him a possible chance in Eire get in touch..thanks a mill :) :)

I keep thinking about the lovely Brian, but unfortunately not in a position to offer him that forever home that he really deserves. I was taken by him initially by his photo and I know I shouldn’t judge the book by the cover, but in this case I was right. He was so attractive and lovely when I met him in the pound. I had the opportunity to get to know him a little bit better when I drove him to his fantastic foster home. He was lovely to his new foster mum and her lovely son and was very gracious and kind towards her own two dogs. What was really touching about the brief experience I had with Brian was how quickly he attached himself to me. After he had his greeting and a little run outside he came back inside to me immediately and greeted me like as if we were old time friends. I imagine it will be very difficult to say goodbye to Brian when the time comes but if he finds his forever home here in Ireland I think it will be a lot easier on everyone, especially Brian. Please read Brian’s thread to find out what a beauty he is.

Once in a while, a dog comes along that steals your heart. Brian has mine, I think he is lovely.

As I said in a previous thread, I live in Kent in the UK and have 2 Irish Rescue Girls (Mayo SPCA) and my friends have a DID dog each (Ruby, Dec 2008 and Carley, Feb 2009). All the dogs mix regularly!

I lost an older dog suddenly and unexpectedly last summer and it has taken until now (well until I first saw Brian actually) to want another.

I have 3 aged cats and 2 horses also.

I appreciate that you would like him to stay in Eire but if no-one comes forward to offer him the home he so deserves, wonder if you may consider me?

Hi Penny, Brian looks very well, thanks to you and your great work. I would be very interested in meeting him, I phoned Kathy today, I live near Naas, maybe you can contact me, I already have a 10 year old ckc, she is deaf so would love to know a little more about his temperment and see if he would suit our family. :)

What is the latest news with Brian? If it doesn’t work out with Pam, we would like to meet him and possibly give him his forever home, he looks like such a beautiful little dog.

Thankyou so much everyone for your kind words about Brian :D , And no doubt if he could talk himself he would say the same ( He’s that affectionate I have thought he actually might sometimes ha ha ),
I had the pleasure of speaking with Pam last night and we are hoping to arrange a meeting for this weekend!
Nothing would make me happier than to see Brian get the Home he so rightly deserves, although it will be a bitter sweet situation for me and to be honest I am dreading him going as have fallen completely head over heels for him   ,
Fingers crossed for Brian and will keep you all posted on any updates!! Thanks again guys…Linda :)
