Good luck wit your application and keep us posted. Poor Brian has been a long time in pound and if you are successful in having him join your family.. let us know! ![]()
Unfortunately Brian still needs a home, through no fault of his own.
When I got to Ashton Dog Pound this morning, I was totally smitten with Brownie before I got to meet Brian. Brownie is a wee pomeranian/terrierX and as you know from my previous postings, my wee pomeranian passed away in October 2009 and she is missed terribly. Yesterday Brownie and Bindi had been separated, as no-one seemed interested in the two of them together. I noticed they are at the bottom of the Urgent Action List!
I did meet BRIAN and he is an absolute wee dote. He is so full of affection. I took him for a walk, he is very good on the lead, no pulling. He is great with the other dogs. We also met the resident cat, and it didn’t take a fizzle out of him. He has a lovely black coat and fluffy tail. He reminded me of a minature Black Retreiver, about the size of a cocker spaniel, slighter in build.
Brian has a great temperament and would make a lovely family pet.
I hope Brian gets a good home soon.
Brian has foster space but needs a lift to Trim. If you can help please contact Kathy on 086 3696413 ![]()
I’m driving back to trim from blanch every evening but wouldn’t make it to the pound on time…if anyone could collect him and hold him I could take him then back to trim with me if that helps. Tomorrow I would be heading back about 7 and Wednesday at 5.30ish…let me know if you need me
I can collect from the pound this evening and hold onto Brian until you can meet me. I am in Glasnevin but can come to meet you somewhere if that makes it easier for you. Please let me know..pm me with your tel number!
Thanks to everyone for their kind offers
Anne (Ladles), who is an angel, is bringing this little man to his foster home this afternoon
Thanks so much ![]()
I am really glad Brian is going to his foster home, considering I was the one who was coming down to home him and then in the end I gave Brownie a home, due to the awful state he was in.
Thanks to you all for getting Brian sorted.
Poor Brownie has been carrying a lot of pain and never once showed it. Took him to the vet last night for his vaccination. He has been given another course of treatment for his kennel cough, though it has improved greatly. Once this is cleared up, the vet wants him in to be neutered, have broken and bad teeth removed – he is in agony and finding it difficult to eat a little. Also the vet said he is carrying an old injury to his front left leg, possibly an old break which was never treated. This is probably why he didn’t want to walk too far. And he is only about 7 years of age. Once all his wee problems are sorted he will be looking and feeling his youthful self again. Vet said he has had a really rough life in the past. I am gutted that anyone could let him get into this state and then to dump him, such a lovable wee boy.
Poor poor wee soul, suffering in silence! His suffering days are over.
If you could see him tucked up in bed at night with his sisters Hollee and Evie!
ah what a lucky thing he found you.. I hope all of his wee problems gets sorted and he is feeling much better very very soon!! You have given him a chance which is just so so lovely. I know you were feeling bad about Brian on saturday but looks like you were destined to save Brownie in the end..just hope Bindi gets out soon too now that Brian has found a foster..who knows if her life was as bad as poor little brownies! thanks again Sheene7 and nice to meet you on saturday!. Keep us updated on Brownie’s progress..
Brian is safely with Linda thanks to Anne (Ladles) ![]()

Brian is a total gentleman, I agree. He was a little anxious in the car at first but he quickly settled. He was so friendly with his fosterers two dogs. He is a dote, wish I could have kept him. Thanks for taking him in to your lovely home, where he will definitely receive all the tlc he deserves.
This dog has captured my heart. I have been following his progress and am delighted that he is now in foster. I have two Irish rescue girls of my own – I live in the UK.
I lost an older dog last year very unexpectedly and wasnt really looking for another just yet, until I saw Brian…….am so tempted. ![]()
