Thankfully Halloween passed off without any dogs stressing out here. Bonnie is doing really well. It’s slow but we are getting there. She’s a great little pup.
Lazy Sunday morning

As all the photos show Bonnie loves other dogs. She’s starting to trust us (most the time)…. She’s still very scared and won’t come in a door if u are standing in it. The poor pet must of had a hard time of it. She still doesn’t come over of her own accord, But she does enjoy her mandatory daily hug and massage, so it’s only a matter of time because when u stop rubbing her she tips your hand …. We are delighted with that because it’s huge progress. ![]()
Bonnie what a lucky lass you are to have such a fantastic foster family that are giving you all the time you need to get back to a self assured dog….
Well done foster family on making a life changing difference to this frail little lady
Ah thanks Audrey x. This morning she jumped on the bed and licked my face I don’t know who was more shocked me or her

I just love Bichons & the lovely Bonnie is doing so well x
I’m so happy to see that beautiful photo of Bonnie learning what it’s like to be cuddled. It is so amazing to see how love and patience and kindness can help a very frightened little dog to overcome the worries of her past. Great to hear about each little milestone of progress being passed. Well done to bonnie’s fosterers. Hats off to you.
Yet another beautiful little dog. I love the image of you in your ‘witchy’ outfit. That is the top image for me ![]()
Thanks for all the lovely comments. Yes Indianna that witch photo is one of my favourite photos of Bonnie.
Bonnie is with us just over 2 months. She is getting so much better every day. She still breaks my heart though because she gets so much attention and love but is still such a terrified little soul. She copies her fur brother and sisters in so much but just not in the search for affection side of things.
As usual with my own they get extra excited when i come home. Well Bonnie now does this too but if you bend to rub her she legs it. But we are getting there…. Huge progress since she first came to stay.
I do think she will need a home with other dogs or a person who is home all the time with her, because there isnt a peep out of her when she has company, but left on her own everybody knows about it ![]()
At least she is making progress
It took one of our rescued JRTs two full years to finally become who she really was so two months is hardly anything in a lifetime. Jet frequently either ducks or runs, even after four months, if I go to take hold her collar, no shouting or quick grabs but I think she must have been grabbed and either hit or dragged about in her previous life. I dread to think of what sort of ‘life’ Bonnie had before she landed into your care. At least she is brave enough to welcome you with the rest of your dogs. She is such a tiny soul – everything will look huge to her, huge and scary. I wish she could understand that she is safe and will be looked after for the rest of her life. Great to hear of her progress, remember, every journey starts with the first step so Bonnie is well on the way
