Hi McCarthy family,
This is his foster Mammy Niamh here and I actually live in Lusk in Chapel Farm! This little man still needs to put on some weight and has to be neutered etc but you are very welcome to come and meet Billy any evening or weekend, but be warned..you will fall in love
October 16, 2009 at 7:47 am #81320martinacMemberam so happy to hear this! this poor guy has been through the mill but is the sweetest guy! he is still fattening up but by all accounts from Niamh has settled in very well. Best of luck and hope it works out for you and Billy!! keep us posted on his progress..soft spot for this wee guy!!
October 19, 2009 at 10:25 am #82655bunty2008MemberHi Niamh,
The McCarthy family sound like they can offer little Billy a lovely home, and I really hope it works out for him.
I just want to register my interest in case, for any reason, it doesn’t. He’s exactly what I am looking for. A nice, mature, little guy to keep my own little guy company.
Come back to me if for any reason he still needs a home. Otherwise, the very best of luck to you and the McCarthys, and Billie of course

October 25, 2009 at 10:50 am #89002zsmccarthyMemberHi,
Suzanne McCarthy here. I’ve e-mailed both Liz and Sarah and still haven’t heard anything back about this little guy. I was on the phone to Sarah and she told me to e-mail so I did but haven’t heard back and that was last Monday. I’m just wondering what the story is?
Thanks a mil
October 26, 2009 at 10:57 pm #89073zsmccarthyMemberHi Liz,
Suzanne here. I sent the e-mail last weekend but I don’t think I did receive an automatic response.
Do I have to put in an adoption form for Billy then? Nobody told me that. I thought I didn’t have to because I had already put one in and passed my home visit. I’ll send one to Sarah tomorrow then. Thanks
November 2, 2009 at 8:27 am #89342oneillMemberWell Bily was neutered on Friday and was a great little boy througout! Not a bother on him over the weekend, he was as right as rain by Saturday evening and is leaving his stitches alone like a good little man . I just can’t say enough good things about him, loves his walkies and gets very excited when he sees the lead as he knows its time for a stroll . He’s a great little grubber too but no food aggression at all which is great. Whoever gets this guy better be into snuggling though as Billy just potters over to you, jumps up on the sofa and looks at you with his big brown eyes and leans in for a cuddle . I thought my own dog was affectionate .. but he is definitely the most effectionate dog I’ve met. This probably sounds mad but it really is like he’s just so delighted to have food in his belly, a little stroll and a cuddle in the evening, its as if he’s saying thank you!!! he was so skinny when I got him but the vet said on Saturday that he’s a lovely healthy weight now and his skin is perfect (it had been very very dry due to bad diet. The toilet training is coming on great, no accidents when Im there to let him out and he’s paper trained for when Im out and he’s great. Billy doesnt min other dogs at all but isn’t really into playing (much to the disappointment of my yorkie!!),. he doesnt get narky or anything, just ignores all the fuss as if to say "Im too mature for all that" !!The only requirement I think Billy has is that he would hate to be left on his own for long , so either another chilled out doggy or a home where someone is there most of the day would suit best. he doesn’t demand attention when you are there, he just potters about, but every few mins will come over to you as if to say "hi there, any chance of a rub? ". This guy deserves such a special home as he is a very special boy who I will miss very much when the time comes for him to go to his forever home

November 9, 2009 at 9:07 am #89635oneillMemberYeah this little man went to his new home yesterday. His new family are lovely and really loved Billy for who he is, so I know they will give him a great home, he’s a lucky little man . As always you wish you could explain everything to them, but on some level maybe they know! His new mammy Julie, who is so smitten with this little guy, said she would keep us posted on his progress so Im looking forward to hearing all about it.
Have a great life little man, God knows you deserve it, and they’re always be a 2nd home for you in Lusk with me and Charlie .
Love

March 9, 2010 at 7:00 pm #94986JulieandBillyMemberHi all at DID,
Sorry about taking so long, but am finally here with some pictures of Billy! As you can see he has been enjoying the sunshine immensely. He really is such a great little doggie, so affectionate loves nestling his head into you for a pet.I can’t go anywhere without him following, and i’m greeted by him licking my face in the morning telling me it’s time to get up. Still loves shoes, and puts them along with anything else i’ve left on the floor onto my bed for me! I taught him how to give the paw, tried to get a photo but he wouldn’t stay still! We love him so much he’s so funny to watch, so happy to be his forever home!
March 9, 2010 at 9:21 pm #94989JulieandBillyMemberAlso I forgot to say a big thanks to everyone at DID for the amazing work you guys do, and especially to Niamh for giving him all that care before he came to us. I can’t even think about what might’ve happened to him without you all your efforts. Thanks DiD!
