ah well looks like Biddy is staying with her Foster carers after all. we’ll have to look elsewhere….c’est la vie!
March 13, 2010 at 7:19 pm #95133buzzsmomMemberWell we are delighted that Biddy now Pippa is ours forever, we all love her and promise to mind her for the rest of her life. Buzz loves her too . Thanks to Cathy and Kim for her injections and thanks to the pound staff who minded her so well.
March 13, 2010 at 9:51 pm #94828dogsruleMemberThat’s wonderful, sure I don’t blame you one bit, she seems to be truely lovely dog. Typical collie cross terrier, full of character! I wish you well with her
April 7, 2010 at 8:49 pm #96385buzzsmomMemberPoor Pippa (originally Biddy )is back from the vets , job done . She doesn’t know what to do with herself, whether to stand or lie and where ? Buzz has inspected the wound and given her a lick, Harley on the other hand watches for where the next nice rug will be placed for Pippa and before you can blink he is sitting on it. They are presently sharing a fluffy dressing gown , both fast asleep.I think the cone is a bigger problem than the wound at the moment ,poor girl.
Buzz really missed her when she was away today, it is amazing how close they have become.I am glad it is over and she can now start recovery.April 8, 2010 at 7:26 pm #96276dogsruleMemberGive Pippa a big hug from me. I’m sure she’ll be fine soon. The big buster collars are annoying, I’m sure she can have it off for a bit if you’re keeping an eye on her. Get well soon cutie!
April 9, 2010 at 12:00 pm #96468buzzsmomMemberHugs were delivered. She seems great but she is hard to keep calm, she has raced off down the back garden with a teddy in her mouth hoping to entice Buzz or Harley to join in. Back to see Mark today and hoping that she can go on a walk maybe tomorrow.
April 22, 2010 at 3:40 pm #97154dogsruleMemberHi buzzsmom,
How is Pippa getting on now? Are you glad you adopted her? Has she settled in fully now? She reminds me of our Dabs in her looks. I’m wondering if she’s come out of her shell like he did?
April 22, 2010 at 5:00 pm #97224buzzsmomMemberI am completely and utterly besotted with her.She is such a lovely character ,she has certainly come out of her shell. It took her almost a month before she would look you straight in the eye , she no longer flinches at arm movements .She has lost all inhibitions about being up on beds etc and fires herself onto the bed first thing in the morning . She is a bit of a gonk though, she was walking along the edge of the river last week and was looking up and she just fell over the edge .I couldn’t believe it , Buzz started to bark madly at her and Harley was trembling at the commotion as he was sitting in my handbag, what a sight . She was lucky that she did not hurt herself.
A pound of butter mysteriously disappeared last week from the counter top ,wrapping included but she said she couldn’t help it , it was too close to the edge. One of my sons who went away three days after she arrived in the house says she has grown considerably. Have to find the charger and take some more pics.Sorry for the rant but you did ask I would really recommend a second dog , I held off for years but they have so much fun together and Buzz who had become a bit middle aged is back running around like a mad thing.April 23, 2010 at 2:07 pm #97257dogsruleMemberPippa sounds like a right cheeky character. I’m delighted for you. The scene of the 2 dogs, the river and the dog in the bag is in my head, so hilarious .
We have our foster dog Brandon since about the time you got Pippa from the pound. I’m wanting the best home for him and at the same time not wanting him to go. That’s the difficult bit about fostering.
Sounds like Pippa won you over from the start. All dogs are so special but some are just able to take your heart and you can’t imagine life without them. Good on you for making a difference for her and bringing her on.
February 6, 2011 at 6:02 pm #85798buzzsmomMemberThis day last year our gorgeous Pippa came home from the pound with us , we intended to foster but just could not part with her.So this is her Gotcha Day. She has changed in weight and colour since then but not in her love of chasing Herons.
Happy Gotcha Day Pips! Thanks to DID

February 7, 2011 at 12:57 pm #97152TobysMumMemberHappy Gotcha Day Pippa – and congratulations to you Marese. She looks like she is having so much fun in that river – the last photos show such a difference from that first photo of her in the pound. What a great year!
February 7, 2011 at 8:59 pm #94546dogsruleMemberThat’s a great name, "Gottcha day", may have to rob that one, happy gottcha day to you and Pippa from Me, Dabd and Brandon!
