Apologies for not updating for some time but Betsy has been very unwell . We have found out that she has a heart condition and there is no treatment to help her so she would have a very poor quality of life. We have had to make the heartbreaking decision to have Betsy put to sleep. Betsy has been very much loved ,cared for and have been a big part of our family while she has been with us and we now know that she isnt suffering any more.

Thank you for all the love and care you have given Betsy while she was with you. This is never an easy decision to make but as mentioned Betsy would not have had a good quality of life.

Run free now little one and be at peace.

Oh ! I am so sorry to hear about Betsy. She was such a little sweetie. I drove her from Dublin to you for foster – and I nearly ran away with her on the way. :?

    Sleep well little girl. X

So very sorry to hear about your lovely girl. I hope these words may bring some comfort to you…..

If it be I grow frail and weak,
And pain should wake me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle can’t be won.
You will be sad, I understand,
Don’t let your grief then stay your hand,
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We’ve had so many happy times,
What is to come will hold no fears,
You’ll not want me to suffer so,
When the time comes, please let me go.
I know in time you too will see,
It is kindness you do to me,
Although my tail, it’s last has waved,
From pain and suffering I’ve been saved.
Do not grieve that it should be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do,
We’ve been so close, we two, these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.
