Sorry for the delay in an update …we’ve had a busy week ….well my foster mum has me I’ve just done alot of sitting around….because of the fracture!

Sitting on Velvet ….she growls but never follows through…she is a bit put out as she was the baby till I landed here

Sitting on Rossi….he is my big foster brother who allows me to walk all over him….except when he is asleep!

And Lying with Tess….we play ALOT and sometimes so much we fall asleep where-ever we lay

Hey All, I was down in the vets today to have my fracture re-examined and I had a new cast put on too……I was a bit of a star patient as I made it onto South Dublin Vets facebook page….

This weeks fashion is definately BLUE Im such trend setter!

My foster mum phoned while I was there and could hear me giving out in the background….so she said next time she would leave in ear plugs when I go back next week for my next check up ….but Alison and Caroline said that they are happy the progress I’ve made so far.

After a yummy din dins I was just pooped out and I needed my creature comforts in the form of Rossi

Hi Peeps,
With this house arrest that I’m under my foster mum is doing her best to come up with novel ideas to keep me entertained…..

Leaving some natural yoghurt at the end of a big tub is such a big challenge keeps me occupied for hours……

And with it being St Valentines Day tomorrow thought this was just the right last picture to upload

One happy little girl received a BIRTHDAY CARD from Benson….

Needless to say, Anya was over the moon and Mia thought that Bensons handwriting was "pretty class"………….

Hi Big Sisters,
Glad it got there….I was with vet Alison again today and my cast has moved slightly so she is hoping that it stays in place till next week when she says that I have a big day I am going under anaesthetic, having an xray of my fracture, being neutered and having my leg re-cast ….whatever all that means.
Had met another former DID doggie Buster he was staying with us for a mini break….he wasn’t too sure of me at the start but I won him over!
Right Im off for a nap.

Just a quick update on my little man who is having a big week….loosing lots of teeth…but only managed to get one of the teeth that fell out …(have it kept for his big sisters just to show them how tiny they are)
And today he was sedated and x-rayed and neutered but when his cast came off there was a bad infection on his leg so he has had to stay overnight in the vets and we miss him terrible…I bet he is making a racket down in the hospital being quiet if he is upset is not Benson….Benson the Bellower when he is not happy! But they will phone in the morning and hopefully we can go and collect him early enough…

The poor little Devil……Fingers crossed everything will be all good today.
He is in very good hands with his foster mum and his friends at the vets so there’s no doubt Benson will do just fine….

I had the pleasure of meeting Audrey and Benson at the vets today in Dundrum. He is such a big fellow, for such a small guy with his pudding bowl on his head Beagles are such wonderful dogs and Audrey has done such a great job to get him to a great phase in his life ready to go to his new home. Great fostering team in DID

Benson was back in the vets today for a checkup on his neuter stitches which i had to look for as they were so fantastic they were nearly invisible ….but more so on his fractured leg and wound…..while he was sedated for his operation, xray and recast his poor leg had developed a dreadful skin infection which was from the cast rubbing and sweat whenever he was warm….this poor baby has been through so much in such a short time …..they can’t put the cast back on so we have him home and have a very worrying two weeks ahead as the leg should still be in a cast but infection needs time to heal.

So with a cone head, a skin infection and a fractured leg this beautiful baby beagle just amazes me and I soooo proud of him as he doesn’t know what it is to be in bad form….his tail wags and he has little chats with me in his howley vocabulary is just hilarious…..his forever family have been so supportive and patient and they are going to be so happy with him as he so going to be worth the wait!

I’m Rocking this cone thing…..every dog should get to wear one its the way forward – Im just a trend setter

Fingers crossed that Bensons little hurdles are coming to an end and that he gets well as soon as possible….

And after everything the fella has been through he still manages a smile for the camera………

Great progress made with Benson’s cast infection so much so we tried our own small scale of aqua aerobics to kick start the muscle wasteage rebuild that the little fractured leg has endured …..

First time to be in deep water……a little worried but kisses to reassure

Not great for ones back but my arms sure got a workout we will do it for a little longer again tomorrow – he was all pooped out!!!

Hope you are making lots and lots of progress Benson….All that exercise in the bath will have your muscles built up in no time at all…

Benson is doing so well with his progress….he has a new walking regime and my folks are doing that while I walk my pack as he has to be kept on a lead and with my lot being off lead it wouldn’t be fair.

This evening he went for his hydro therapy and he was the bravest little boy even though it was all so daunting for him. He did 10 minutes of full on swimming which was great for his leg ….he has full movement and the muscle just needs building ….but every precaution still has to be taken as he should still be in a cast for another two weeks….

Gareth from Sharpewells K-9 Hydrotherapy was just fantastic with Benson took it as a pace that was reassuring …..he had treats to start and a good sniff around.

He slept in the car the whole way home and then disappeared as soon as I got in ….here is where I found him…..cheeky but very tired pup.
