Dogs In Distress wants everyone to have a safe Halloween.

Please be aware that this is a stressful time for dogs (and some dog owners!!) as so many dogs gets anxious about the fire works.
Please be exra vigilant with your dogs today and more importantly tonight.
-Ensure your dogs is safe in doors, a firework can easily land in a garden :(
-If they are out the back and get a fright they could panic. So ensure all gates are secure.
-Make sure you dog and cats are secure in a quiet room when you answer the door to children as they can bolt out the door when you least expect it.
-Please ensure your dog has a very visible tag.
-Make sure you keep all candles and pumpkins are up high so your dog doesnt jump into the window on top of them!!
-And please keep all Halloween trick or treat goodie bags out of their reach too as chocolate is lethal for the poor things and lollies and sweets can be a choking hazard.
-And pretty please do not bring your dog Trick Or Treating, they are not built to deal with all the strange costumes, smells and sounds and can become extremely anxious.

Please remember that this is often a time when animals get hurt, abused and killed, be vigilent and be safe…………
