We picked Ali up on Thursday. We’ve been calling him Ollie (as our 5 year old little girl is called Alice / Ali). He was very happy to see us and was so friendly it was great. He travelled brilliantly in the car. Once we got home he had a big bath and then his dinner. He loves his food and is a great eater. He also loves his walks and by today, Saturday, when he saw us reaching for the leash he was jumping up with excitement :) He loves being outside and would suit a home with a nice back garden for him to investigate and play in. He has been marking his territory in the house, and we think it could be anxiety related because it’s getting better as he settles in. On day one he was getting amorous with his bedding and anything he could bundle up in a lump, but that hasn’t happened since. He is being neutered on Monday. There were a couple of instances on the first day of him growling at us but it hasn’t happened since then. He loves playing and having his belly rubbed. He is learning to trust again. He likes kids, and I have to say has been very good with ours, but we think he’d be best suited to a house with older children or a house with just adults. His recall isn’t great yet, and this is largely due to him having to learn a new name. But he is so bright we know it will come. He is great on the lead and is interested in other dogs we meet on our outings, but he is not aggressive towards them. He has barked at the post man but not in a nasty way – and he doesn’t bark to come in when he’s outside in the garden which is good. He is very calm in the house so he’s def low maintenance. He slept in our room on the floor on night one, then in the kitchen last night. He will make a lovely pet :)

Our gorgeous Ollie has gone on to his new foster home since yesterday. Nuala came to collect him and he trotted off very happily with her. Hoping he’s settling in well and looking forward to an update soon :) hoping he turns out to be your forever pet Nuala :) we all miss him here. Some cutey photos of him attached.
