January 14, 2010 at 5:40 pm #90157jennie78MemberMeet Alfie! He’s so friendly and loves to be rubbed and cuddled. He was quite scared in the car but he’s settling in fine now that he’s had a run around and a sniff!
He’s had a bath and is smelling better than he did a little while ago. He fought the bath at the start but really enjoyed it then and had fun.
Will post more as we get to know each other betterJanuary 14, 2010 at 8:50 pm #89740jennie78MemberAlfie is chillin in his crate now He’s had a tough day bless him.
He needs a little work on the lead as he has a tendancy to wander and criss-cross. He enjoyed his walk though and sussing out his new surroundings.
He’s getting on well with our two dogs and the feeling seems mutual. They played really nicely for a good while this evening.
He’s also very good with the kids.
He loves cuddles and likes to sit on your lap and be part of what’s going on
I think we could have a broken night’s sleep tonight as he’s whimpering a little but we’ll live with that
He’s eating and drinking well too which is always a relief.
Overall, this little dude is fab!!!January 15, 2010 at 7:46 am #88034jennie78MemberAfter a lot of crying, Alfie settled down really well for the night and we had a peaceful night. He’s been out for a walk this morning but didn’t think much of it and doesn’t seem to "get" it
I think he’s either been partially toilet trained or not at all. I haven’t quite made my mind up about that yet We’re working on him!
He really likes to be close to my feet at all times! He’s very good at sitting while he’s waiting for me without even having to be told. And he has such a cute little sit too. He just seems to like to know there’s somebody there with him.
He’s very playful and the minute I stand up he starts bouncing about in front of me wantin to play which is so cute it’s hard to describe.
He’s very, very thirsty at the moment and because it’s been raining a bit here most of his walk this morning concentrated on tryin to lick water off the grass
He’s going for a grooming this afternoon so I’ll put up photos of his new ‘do later.January 15, 2010 at 12:12 pm #92528SileTMemberOMG, Alfie is soooo cute…
January 15, 2010 at 1:07 pm #92543jennie78MemberThis is Alfie after his bath last night .. Not impressed at all
He’s sleeping a lot today. Think the trauma of the last few days is catching up with him Even so, he’s being very good and can’t get enough of the kids & other dogs.
He was snoring so loudly earlier I couldn’t believe that noise was coming out of something so smallJanuary 15, 2010 at 4:35 pm #92455SileTMemberhaha I’ve two shih tzu’s myself, Molly and Gobo.
We got Molly from DID last Nov. They are hilarious together and yes the snoring is so funnyJanuary 15, 2010 at 9:40 pm #92576jennie78MemberAlfie is like a new man! He’s back from the fantastic groomer Orlagh @ Smoochable Pooches in Greystones who was very good enough to fit him in today at short notice
He’s been tired today but in good form. He’s off to bed in a few minutes after a play on the floor with one of our dogs and our five year old. It’s like a mutual appreciation society with the pair of them so I am very confident to say he’s gonna be good with kids.
He’s so cute!!!
January 15, 2010 at 10:50 pm #92585lauradMemberHi Im new to the site, just have to say that Alfie is the cutest little thing Ive ever seen! And he looks even more fab after his grooming.
My little boy would adore him.

January 16, 2010 at 11:08 pm #92615jennie78MemberThis little guy is just gone out for his last walk of the day. He’s spent the evening laid out on the sitting room floor watching a DVD with us
Can’t even begin to say how good and how cute he is. He’s so adorable. He’s definitely not completely house trained but even in the few days he’s been with us he’s done so well and is learning very quickly.
He was much better in the car today than he has been any other day too. I think he’s startin to relax which is lovely.
We all love him to bits hereJanuary 17, 2010 at 12:52 pm #92592jennie78MemberAlfie is the best behaved dog ever! We had visitors this morning that he’d never met before and there was no jumping or hopping about or looking for attention. He lay on the floor where he had been when they came in until he was called over. He is a pleasure to have around the house
