Hi everyone,
Just a little updat on Twiggy. Unfortunately he has had his right leg operated on for the second time  . Op on left one worked a treat and it is now straight and normal. Right one shot out again and he had great difficulty with it. But Paul (his wonderful vet) felt there might be more difficulty sorting the right one. Should mention here both back legs were out of kilter since birth. It was two weeks yesterday since his op. Had his stitches out on Monday, 7 of them. Quite a few for such a little guy and the second scar on this leg. He is a brave little guy and seems to heal very quickly. He needs to be kept quiet (not an easy task since he runs everywhere with the leg up) Problem is he tends to put it down quite a bit and heads for steps and stairs (both out of bounds) if I blink. Also attempts to jump up on the armchair into his ‘sunny spot’. June (a good friend of D.I.D) gave me a canvas crate which is a godsend. I am very greatful to her, thanks you again June.
I hope that this time all will go well and with careful management the ‘leg/cruciate’ will heal and Twiggy will be a happy little man. It certainly doesn’t stop his fun and he is a happy little fellow once the pain bit is over. He reacts immediately we stop the car at Paul’s by shaking from head to foot :( . I hate putting him through it but have been told it is necessary for him especially as he gets older.
Would just like to mention here how greatful I am to D.I.D. and especially Kathy for all their help with Twig :D. Couldn’t have done it without them. Paul will see him again in 3 weeks for check up. Fingers crossed all will be well. :) He is getting all the love, care and attention he needs and Baily is very gentle with him, almost like he understands. Thanks again D.I.D. for allowing us to give both little fellows a home and for all your help. Couldn’t imagine life without them now. :D
