Hi all, We adopted George back in January. He’s getting on really well. It’s a nice life being a dog I’ve decided. I’d say he’s about 14 months old or thereabouts now and he’s settled in really well. He’s a funny little chap. He’s so bright and has loads of energy. He gets massive walks everyday which keeps that in check and he’s begun swimming which I never thought he’d do because his little legs are so short for his big body.
It has always been a case of day by day with George. He is perfectly behaved for days at a time and just as you think he is finally where you want him to be, he goes and eats a wall or something. Those days are getting fewer and fewer but he is hilarious.
He has his funny little personality. He hides every single bone or treat you give him. Buries them mostly and then brings them out weeks later when they’re really mucky and disgusting.
He’s good though. I will put up with any number of quirks, chewing, shedding (constantly!) for a dog who is just so good with people and other dogs. A little two year old toddled up to him when we were walking and before I could do anything she slapped him on the nose (she meant to pet) anyhow George didn’t even blink.
He is just wonderful. Never a dull moment. It’s been a tough enough year, and he’s like an instant de-stresser. He likes us too. Steve is the soft touch and I’m the boss. I wonder what it’ll be like when we have kids? Just the same I’d say…
Anyhow, thanks guys. So far so good.
