Say hello to Benny – one of 8 pups that Belle had at Christmas. Benny is the biggest of the 4 pups that I’m fostering. He can inhale his food in a nano-second. He is turning into a little clown (see the photo below of him praying!). He is afraid of nothing and his latest trick is climbing onto the door of the dishwasher as I try to unload the dishes. He loves the odd cuddle but is quite happy being boisterous mainly with Billy. Benny will be ready to go to his forever home at 8 weeks. His toilet training is a little hit and miss but he’s getting there! He sleeps all night through cuddled up with his brothers. I think Benny will be the biggest out of my 4 pups and quite independent – he is happy to amuse himself.

IMG_1601.JPGFebruary 8, 2014 at 6:26 pm #119265yoddyMemberHi I’ve put a video up on youtube of the 4 pups getting their first outing. They are getting restless now in the kitchen, so as it wasn’t too bad this morning, I let them out the back door for a little sniff.
Excuse the quality of the video – it’s my first time to do this and it’s a bit hit and miss, but anyone interested in the pups might like to see them in action.
Bubba the Brave was first out the door and down the 2 steps for a prowl, he was followed by Benny and Biggs at some point…….but poor Billy just couldn’t overcome his fear of the bottom step…February 8, 2014 at 10:48 pm #119270fredisbestMemberAw that was so beautiful to watch. Funny how they all attempted to go their separate ways but all ended up in the same corner. This time next year it would be fantastic if all puppies were videoed again in their forever homes. Yoddy you should take a bow. It’s thanks to you they are so happy and content. Well done. I know you’ll shed a lot of tears when they go but you gave them the best start in life. They are very lucky puppies to have had such a wonderful start in life with you.

Thanks to my cousin Marie for bringing the boys up 2 Kong tug toys…..I’ve been showing them how the game goes and now they’ve the hang of it. The squeak still sends them running to hide in their bed though.
PS Thanks fredisbest for the lovely comments.

Benny is a great little boy. He is getting bigger and stronger each week. He will be 8 weeks on Tuesday and after his vaccination, microchipping and uptodate worming, Benny will be ready for his forever home by the end of next week. Benny is loving human company now and is ready for his new family to come and find him.

IMG_1739.JPGFebruary 19, 2014 at 9:17 am #119399ColganFamilyMemberWell this gorgeous little creature – along with one of his brothers – came to live in our house!!! He is absolutely adorable and a credit to Yvonne who has reared him so well for the last number of weeks. He is a real snuggle monster who nuzzles into any available neck and almost purrs with pleasure when he is cuddled. He is eating really well, sleeping through the night without a peep and playing crazily with any toy he can find on the floor. He is coming on great with his toilet training thanks to the persistence of my daughter who is on mid term and spending it on piddle watch!!! He will be microchipped and get his first vax in the next day or so and then he is good to go!!! An absolute sweetheart!

CAM_1475.JPGFebruary 25, 2014 at 11:42 am #119519yoddyMemberBig thanks to Susan and family for taking Benny into foster – 4 boisterous boys were too much for my kitchen. He is a sweetheart and deserves to have his own loving home – but in the meantime I’m glad he’s in foster with a super human and doggy family. I’ll be following you little boy.
IMG_1623.JPGFebruary 28, 2014 at 8:59 pm #119570yoddyMemberMy darling little clown Benny……so so sad to hear the news today. You were a beautiful little pup and didn’t deserve such a short life.I have spent the evening with your little brothers cuddling them to bits . The tears are flowing again. Susan,Jane, myself and those who cared for you and Belle gave you enough love, care and cuddles to make your short life the best it could be, and for that we will take comfort. Run free little boy…..RIP. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
February 28, 2014 at 9:06 pm #119571LuvMyFurKidsMemberIts so sad to hear that little Benny has passed to Rainbows bridge …my heart goes out to all the fosterers who took him into their homes and their hearts….I had the snuggliest of pleasures when he was only a wee one doing his nails and worming …and even then they were just dotes…In his very short little life he knew only warmth, a full belly and tonnes of unconditional love and super little siblings too….far more than most get in a lifetime….
Run free at Rainbows Bridge Benny all those special dogs that have gone before you will show you the ropes…gone but never forgotten!
March 3, 2014 at 11:38 am #119614ColganFamilyMemberIt is only now, with Benny’s little bro back safely in my arms, that I can post on the most awful thing to happen to us since we began fostering 5 years ago. Poor Benny was only 9 and a half weeks old – everyone did all they could – the vet team worked really hard, we visited him daily and heaven was stormed like never before but poor Benny went to Rainbow’s Bridge on Friday morning.
Thanks so much to everyone who posted and texted – your support means so much.
Run free, little Benny – you were truly loved! -
