MemberPoor Jessie is painfully thin.
Little pet is absolutely terrified in the pound, she’s very sweet and gentle.

InactiveJessie arrived this afternoon. ….she is really thin and quite nervous. She let me lift her into the bath, for those who have never met me I’m not exactly hercules, which gives you an idea of how light she is
, she didn’t move while I shampooed her, dried her and lifted her back out. She then met the pack who hardly batted an eyelid at her presence. I sat with her while she had a good meal and now she is kind of lying on her bed

InactiveIts amazing what a difference a couple of days makes. Jeesie I am delighted to say is slowly coming around
The first night she didn’t make a sound and I was thrilled to find she is house trained. At first she was scared to eat out of the bowl but now she sits and waits with my lot for her dinners which she surprisingly eats like a lady….the whole time she scans the room between mouthfuls. She was frozen with fear the first 2 days but I was greeted by a happy tail wagging bouncy girl on Sunday morning! !!! She hasn’t barked or anything yet but has started to play around me……

MemberShe is beautiful and reminds me of my boxie girl who died 2 years ago.
All she wants is to show you she loves you….and that she deserves a hug!October 27, 2013 at 6:05 pm #117730Anonymous
InactiveJessie is coming on in leaps and bounds……literally. She leaps with joy when you get up or arrive home and now bounds around playing. I am trying to teach her that she gets more attention when she is calm but it is difficult not to enjoy her moments of madness after her frozen in fear first few days!! She had a visit to the vet on Friday for a check up. She is on antibiotics for a minor infection on her toe and is around 5 kilo underweight but otherwise in great health. Yesterday she met Alpine the Husky and they instantly hit it off so today I let her off the lead and OMG she was a joy to watch, tearing around in circles with Alpine in hot pursuit. She is like a hare and if any of my lot got in the way she just jumped over them!!!! She loves a Kong or a rawhide bone and is a perfect house guest.

InactiveJessie had her Op (spay) yesterday. She is still very wary of new people and places so It broke my heart leaving her in the vets. She is recovering well and is just enjoying being snuggled up on the sofa. I attempted to put the dreaded collar on her at bedtime but she went into a frozen stance so I took it off and let her sleep beside my bed to keep an eye on her. She is such a gentle soul that I don’t want to do anything to set her back now that she is trusting us. She is a fab dog who just needs some time to realise that the world is not a scary place anymore.
