The minute I saw Cindy in Urgent Dogs I knew I wanted to foster her. We picked her up in the pound yesterday and we knew we had made the right decision. Here looking at us was a terrified really skinny little girl with eyes that would melt your heart. In the 24 hours she has been with us she has certainly done that. This little beauty is amazing. Despite what she has been through after initially hiding under the table and desperately trying to be invisible she is now lying on the couch cuddling into me looking for lots of tlc. She was also very brave today and went to support the DID Fundraiser organised by Marie ( 3 Lab Lady) in Best Buds, Killester, and met lots of kind people and her foster friends. She is getting on very well with Carrie and they are already sharing toys, beds etc. She slept all night without a sound and had her walk on the beach this morning. She is great on the lead and just wants to please you all the time. Can’t believe we only have her 24 hours. It always amazes me why this breed of dog is never really wanted, they are incredibly affectionate, so giving in every way, a fabulous companion and the saddest yet most beautiful eyes you could imagine. Will update again tomorrow.

Cindy went off to her forever home at the weekend with Susan and Ashley. They had travelled all the way from Wicklow to meet her and it was love at first sight. She is such a lucky girl and I know she will have a very happy life. We miss Cindy, she was a pleasure to have in our home :D e.

It’s been a roller coaster. We set off last weekend to find a rescue dog having had to put our beloved Becky to sleep some weeks ago. She was a whippet and our first experience of this kind of dog and now it is the only breed we would look for. A series of chance events resulted in us bringing Cindy, whom we have named Luna, home on Sunday. She is a complete sweet heart and as good as gold. She is very gentle, wants to please and has the most amazing eyes. When we got home we discovered that she developed kennel cough so she’s had a lot to contend with since arriving in the pound. BIG THANKS to Kathy for all her support and advice.

Day by day she is getting more relaxed and used to us and her new environment. She has been very civil to our cat whom she meets in the garden! I can’t recommend these kind of dogs highly enough.

These photos are for Colette and her family – if you hadn’t rescued Luna from the pound – we would never have found her. THANK YOU X

Thanks for the lovely photos of Luna. She looks great. It’s amazing the difference a week can make. We’re so happy to see she has settled in so well. Give her a big hug from us.

Luna has been with us for four months and in the last couple of weeks has really started to come out of herself. She comes running when we come in the door, full of excitement and affection. She has learned some commands and is beginning to play tricks on us. One day she neatly uncovered her food parcels meant for a few days away from beneath some clothes, took them back to her bed and ate the lot! As you can see from this photo she enjoys travelling and will take any chance to jump in the car.

She loves her walks and exploring the local area. One day she gave Aisling a heart attack when she managed to escape from the garden and was missing for a few hours. However, she did come back home so she knows her way around and where home is. The escape route has since been secured. She has since been spayed and has recovered really well.
