This little man is gone into foster with Christine who will update soon
IMAG0842.jpgApril 23, 2013 at 7:36 pm #115157ChristineRyanMemberLittle Troy (McLure! You might remember me from such….!) is settling in so well. He has been with us a week now.
For a dog that was left out the back garden since he was a pup (he is about three or four) and quite possibly neglected, he took to toilet training in the first day which is unheard of! He is a typical little Alpha male dog and loves to wee on everything when outside.
Troy is exceptionally well behaved and has taken to home living no problem… He loves to lounge on the couch, eat, give lots of kissies and play outside. A very quiet, affectionate dog with a brilliant personality and gentle nature. He hasn’t a bad bone in his body this little one. I have as yet not heard him bark, even on the first night when he was very distressed and confused.
We’ve taken him to agility training to socialise him with other dogs as he allegedly had no knowledge of the world prior to meeting us. Well, he was running around playing with all of the other dogs, not a bother on him! He was the darling of the group!! Everyone doted on him and he ran the course like an expert.. A real brave boy.
Troy is in rude good health and very sprightly (he runs like a deer, he almost bounces along!). He’s fab in the car and is doing great with his on and off leash training.
Troy currently sleeps in a crate as he is experiencing anxiety due to stress of the transition to indoor living which is disappearing very quickly.
We believe this little man would be suited to a home where there is a female dog (or two or three or four..?!) and one where there is a garden for him to potter round in. A dog anyone would be proud of owning x
Here is a link to video of him in the park for the first time (off leash for the first time too)! http://youtu.be/g_dIjneQOcs

April 27, 2013 at 12:38 am #115211Scalper3MemberHey there! Did Troy get a home yet?? I’d still be interested popping out and seeing his progress!
April 28, 2013 at 7:31 pm #115246ChristineRyanMemberAnother busy week for Troy!
He had several outings to the phoenix park for off-leash running around and did great.
He went in the car for supermarket shopping and general errands during the week and each time was very sad to leave it – he loves the car!!
Troy was on the beach in Clontarf yesterday early evening and loved the sand and running round on the beach… So cute!
Today was another morning at agility training and boy, this guy is outgoing! He was enjoying his training and using his brain and afterwards, he socialised with all of the dogs on the course.
Troy is an extremely well-adjusted dog. He knows not to jump up on the bed in the house or go into the bathroom. He sleeps the full night and never barks in the house. He is extremely affectionate and loves his masters above all.
This dog will be snapped up. He is about four years old and in excellent health with a shiny coat, bright eyes and lovely teeth.
We’ve attached some photos of him…

May 1, 2013 at 9:31 am #115285ZaraMemberAbsolutely amazing what you have done with this little fella! All he needed was patience, a bit of time and some TLC. Well done Christine, you’ve done such a brilliant job, he’ll be snapped up in no time
May 16, 2013 at 7:58 pm #115556ChristineRyanMemberTime for some Troy news!
Well, little Mister has well and truly settled into the house. He is the boss here now! He loves to lounge and just be part of the family. He is a great fan of indoor living now – given that he was outside for so long, alone, he just loves company and home comforts.
Troy is amazing in the car and it is one of his favourite places. If I open the car to get something, he hops in and doesn’t want to come out until we go somewhere! He is soothed by the movement of the car and enjoys looking out the window.
Little Troy is full of vim and joy and loves to give kissies – he’s always happy to see us. He’s great off leash and doing well on his recall.
He is still nervous of the outside world (not surprising) and not too fond of car traffic and noisy streets.
He is adorable. Just adorable and everyone who meets him falls for him. We are crazy about him and it will be so hard to let this guy go when he finds his forever home.
We’ve attached some links to more Troy videos:
Troy playing at home –
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHnyezL2oVsMay 27, 2013 at 6:37 pm #115705ChristineRyanMemberTroy had a busy weekend – he was meeting and greeting the whole time!
He had a picnic in the Memorial Park in Inchicore on Saturday and played with lots of dogs of all ages and sizes. He loves the attention of other dogs.
On Sunday he had a late lunch with us in the Italian Quarter beside Jervis Street. We sat outside enjoying the sunshine and our meal. Troy was a hit with the waiting staff who couldn’t do enough to make him comfortable.
Here are some photos and videos of him enjoying family life. He is such a happy, playful and sweet little man

IMG_20130524_195822.jpgJune 7, 2013 at 3:39 pm #115865ChristineRyanMemberTroy was on holiday in West Cork for the long weekend and had a ball! Check out his photos AND A NEW VIDEO to see what he has been up to….
He is an excellent traveller. There wasn’t a peep out of him the whole way down. He enjoyed a couple of wee, leg stretch and water breaks along the way.
We take Troy almost everywhere with us and the trip was no different. He was sightseeing, dining outdoors in restaurants and down the local pub too!
As we’ve no garden here in Dublin (just a cottage), he thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to potter from the garden into the house and vice versa. Troy socialises well with other animals and he was enjoying the ponies and the other five dogs on the property. Though, we had to keep him away from the chickens as he was enjoying chasing them too much!!
We strongly believe that Troy would suit a home where there is another dog(s), a garden to play in and where there is peace and quiet. He is very nervous of crowds and traffic. He has such a lovely personality and is so sweet and full of personality.
He is the most loving dog and really puts his trust in his masters. We love him so much and he really is a little dote and a part of our family life. My mother is nervous of dogs but Troy has been the only foster dog that we’ve had that she will allow in the house and she even walks him!

IMG_20130602_212101.jpgJune 20, 2013 at 3:19 pm #116020ChristineRyanMemberTroy has had his summer time hair cut. I think you’ll all agree that he looks even cuter (if that’s possible)!
He is having a great time this weather and has been in the park every day for the last few weeks. He loves to run around on the grass and meet other doggies for play though he is scared of small children.
Troy had a great time in the park today jogging alongside me. He is such a healthy, happy little man. He is snoring (loudly) on the couch as I write!!
We are hoping to foster another little doggie for company for Troy. He is so sociable and just loves to play.
For anyone thinking of adopting this adorable, sweet little man, he would suit a home where there is another dog or dogs, no small children and one with a garden for him to play in. We are just crazy about him and will be heartbroken when he goes to his forever home.
