Wendy arrived at our mad house yesterday evening (thanks Sandra for dropping her off). She really is a little dote. She’s only about 5 mths old but her face looks so much older, she has a really smart look in her eyes and a very settled manner. So far, I would have to say that Wendy is the biggest cuddler of a foster dog to have stayed with us so far. She’s like a baby! She wants to be in someones arms all the time and nuzzles her head right into the neck of who ever is holding her and would stay there for as long as she can! She slept in the kitchen last night, I wasnt really expecting to get a good sleep on night no. 1 but there wasnt a peep out of her until this morning when we came down about 7am for breakfast and she practically somersaulted through the air she was so excited to see us …. ahhhhh! Toilet training is going well, as usual my other dogs are doing the work for me in that department, and so far only 2 accidents .. not bad! I’ll post some pics and updates over the next few days as we get to know her better.

Wendy has been with us since Monday and is well settled in by now. She’s a fantastic little girl and will make a great family pet. She gets on great with our dogs, loves the kids (she’s so gentle with them) and continues to be one of the most affectionate little puppies to stay with us.

While Wendy gets on great with the other dogs in our house, I feel that her human company means more to her and so, while she would get on great in a house with other dogs, I think she would be just as happy in a home where she gets all the attention. Shes only little, and so she doesnt need a HUGE amount of exercise, just lots of love (and a few good meals!!)

I’ll get pics up over the next few days, having a few difficulties with my camera, I’ll get there!

At last I’ve put up a few pics of Wendy, isnt she gorgeous!!

We brought her this morning to be vaccinated and chipped, she was soooo good at the vets, she actually licked the vets face while the needle was going in, she really is just fab, a wonderful little girl. Afterwards we brought all 3 dogs to the beach (of course I forgot my camera!) but she loved it there, Im keeping her on the lead for now but she really is very well behaved when we’re out, and equally well behaved in the car.

Toilet training is getting there – we still have the occasional accident but she understands what she has to do and gets it right most of the time.

I know I’m repeating myself at this stage but this girl would fit into most types of home. Shes great with the children, loves playing with Daisy and most of all, loves to be up in her family’s arms getting her ears rubbed! While she gets on great with Daisy, I still feel that she’d be as happy in a home with no other dog, once she gets attention and cuddles, she’s happy.

Our lovely little Wendy will be leaving us tomorrow, unfortunately she has’nt found her forever home yet but as we are starting building work in our house, Wendy will need to move on to her new foster family. We will miss her very much, she has taken a place in all our hearts and we hope some lucky family will fall in love with her as much as we did sooner rather than later.

We collected Wendy yesterday from Fiona’s family. The poor pet got a bit of a land when she came in and met the two big ones a retriever and a boxer and for once my westie is being nice. It would be hard not to when shes so quiet and gentle. Today there is six dogs here and she’s as good as gold rolled up on the couch cuddled in. She loves just lyin with u getting cuddles. She is gonna make somebody a great companion

This young / old lady is a dream its hard to believe shes only 5 months shes so chilled out. We’v been callin her Rosie as she’s not really a Wendy. We put up the decorations yesterday and she was happy as Larry pottering around and playing with a ball. She is taking all the craziness here in her stride. Then to the couch for love/hate and she falls asleep on my leg mooching up every few mins till she was asleep on the nook of my neck. Ud never b short a cuddle with this little doll.

The above photos show how quick this little one settled in. And how small she looks against my retriever. Walking is no bother and she is also great off the lead. She’s a typical curious puppy but so far so good she’s not gone near the Xmas decorations.
