This big baby is gone into foster with Inga and Raj until Marie can take him on Friday.
Mojo is a big and energetic puppy. So he will need to go to a family with older kids. He will also need to go as a second dog who already have an existing dog to be his buddy and help to burn off energy.
mojo.jpgOctober 24, 2012 at 12:08 pm #111941rubi27MemberMojo is in temporary foster care with us for a few days.
He is like a extra fluffy polar bear that loves attention and belly rubs.
Took him to the dog park this morning to vent some pent up energy. Boy did he have a good run and gave the Labradoodle that was int he part a run for her too.
Jacky seems to tiny next to Mojo. Mojo thinks he is the same size as Jacky and doesn’t realize his strength! He walk on the lead better than i expected and sits when as soon as you stop walking. He still needs some direction and training but he is half way there.
He loves to play.

His a big boy who will have to go to an active home with people who are willing to put the time into his training. He is getting on we’ll with my lot so all is good.

Due to his size you forget he is only 6 months, and he can be a bit mad(like every lab pup I”ve ever come in contact with!!!!! He just wants to play and cuddle…..constantly Buster was not impressed with the slaps in the head from his big paws while he was trying to snooze. I took him for a short walk last night and he was fab. As an owner of 3 labs I would say to anyone they are a brilliant dog but don’t be taken in by the cute face…they needs lots of exercise a nd training…at least an hour walk a day with lots of offlead running to burn off their huge amounts of energy. Once you are willing to put in the time you will have the greatest dog ever!!!
October 27, 2012 at 5:13 pm #112008blueindigoMemberWell Mojo worked his magic on Grafton Street today helping with the collection What a chilled dog. He just drew in the crowds, lapped up all the attention and the buckets filled up He was so handsome in his DID t-shirt. Fantastic for 6 months. If you can give all the exercise that this guy requires, you will have the most wonderful companion for life Thanks Mojo

I brought him out with Rocky first thing this morning and gave him some offlead time…..which he loved He is a big baby who will need lots of exercise to burn off all his energy.

At first he barked non stop if you put him outside or left him in a different room but with a lot of patience and some very obliging neighbours he has much improved. He gets on great with other dogs even those he a big pest who loves to chase. Obviously as a retriever he loves water and will throw himself into any muddy puddle he can find, the other morning he jumped in the river and couldn’t get out but finally emerged soaked through looking delighted with himself!!! Tankfully he loves the hairdryer….Like all pups he enjoys a good dig however as his paws are a little larger then most pups I may have to reposition some plant pots I took him to the park todayon his own and he was brilliant. He played wIth every dog that came near and everybody said how gorgeous he is. After a good hour of running and wrestling he is curled up asleep. Mojo would thrive in a home that love the outdoors or would make an ideal jogging companion. He will need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to keep his mischievous streak at bay. Having had 3 lab puppies myself I know the consequences of a bored one…..but keep them active and interested and they make the best dogs in the world..

November 6, 2012 at 7:12 am #112174AnonymousInactiveWe were having a bit of a problem for the past couple of morning but as usual perseverance prevailed. My partner gets up at ridiculous o clocked go to work and after he had left Mojo would make quite the racket to encourage me to get up….but today 4 short barks and then silence. It just goes to show patience is key with a new dog….he has been moved around a lot in a couple of weeks and it obviously has him worried that we won’t come back. He is getting used to our routine and gives the best cuddles xxx
20121104_082016.jpgNovember 9, 2012 at 8:51 am #112243AnonymousInactiveMo is coming on in leaps and bounds. He goes out first thing in the morning for an offload run (only because he stays beside the other dogs) He then gets his breakfast frozen in a KONG I have my sister come and give him an extra walk in the afternoon if I’m in work which all seems to wear him out which in turn curbs the barking. Essentially he is a working dog who needs physical and mental stimulation and then he will happily snooze at your feet all evening but if he doesn’t get enough exercise you”ll know all about it!!! As he is still a big puppy he jumps up and play bites so he might be better suited to a house with older children. As I have 3 dogs we know he gets along with other dogs. .He needs lots of patience and lots of walking and chasing ball will be needed to burn off his energy before bed. Mojo is a high energy dog but once he gets enough exercise he is a total couch potato and snuggle monster. Xxxxx
November 14, 2012 at 10:57 am #112318AnonymousInactiveMojo headed off on his holliers for the weekend to http://www.homefromhomekennels.com with my Gang as Mammy had a busy weekend and couldn’t guarantee sufficient walking due to lie ins and hangovers He had an absolute ball, he spent the weekend tearing around the fields and playing with any dog who would oblige!! When I arrived home on Monday he seemed genuinely excited to see me(we are bonding). He is settling into our routine perfectly now, Up at 7am, breakfast, out for a good half hour offlead run with Rocky, Alpine and Rex until breathless(his recall is still a work in progress) Then he gets his Kong which he loves. He gets a nice long onlead walk in the afternoon and is quite happy to snooze the day away. Dinner is at 6.30 and then after some rough n tumble and rope tug he just wants cuddles and belly rubs and in bed by 10.30. He does need training and lots of exercise and someone who is willing to be patient and give him time to settle in.
November 17, 2012 at 10:14 am #112369AnonymousInactiveMojo had a great day in the park yesterday. We met loads of people and doggies and there was lots of running and wrestling. I only let him off lead when we”re with a gang of dogs or in an enclosed area as he is still in that inquisitive puppy mode and will go after joggers and anything else that moves. I’m gutted I left my phone in the car as at one point there were at least 10 dogs including Murphy the Newfoundland tearing around….Mojo was filthy so went straight out the back when we got home. He miraculously self cleans and was once again a beautiful blonde bombshell when he came back in!!!!! He still likes the sound of his own voice and enjoys chatting to one or two of the neighbourhood dogs when he’s outside
