January 27, 2013 at 4:31 pm #113692annieoMemberWell we collected this lovely young guy from the wonderful Liz and Shay who had been taking such good care of him since he was rescued before Christmas, I know Liz had a tear in her eye as he left and I know why! Comet/Bran is a very sweet and lovable pup and we are delighted to welcome him to be part of our family. He is full of beans, handsome, clever, silly, funny and great company. We are still trying to work out his parentage, definitely a lot of black lab but the vet reckons a bit of lurcher too (probably explains his spring loaded paws!). Whatever… time will tell. He has settled so easily no doubt because he was so well cared for by his foster family and was even fully house trained, happy days, Thanks Liz . So far we know he loves his toys, is afraid of the wind, mystified by snow, a bit nervous in the car, totally affectionate, slightly mad, will eat anything (legitamite or not) at any opportunity, loves hugs and games, and is generally an all round happy little man. He is hard to photograph cos he doesn’t stay still for long and because he just comes out as a black blob but here are a couple I did manage to get. Welcome to your new home Bran.

bran5.jpgFebruary 12, 2013 at 11:21 am #114022annieoMemberBran had his neutering op last week and is doing great, not sure the cone is serving any purpose as he is a very flexible guy, plus he doesnt seem to have heard the vet telling him to take it easy. He has developed a keen interest in shoes of all sorts and he has been caught doing high speed laps of the house with them on board. Wooden floors and turning corners/stopping have been a bit of a problem but he doesn’t seem deterred, maybe he thinks the cone is a crash helmet!

branxmas1.jpgJanuary 15, 2014 at 3:08 pm #118907annieoMemberThis day last year our lovely Bran arrrived to share his new life with us. I can still remember his foster mums tears and the scared little puppy face that set off with me that day in the car on a big adventure into the unknown for us all. What a great year we have had with Bran, he has had 3 DID foster brothers/sisters, become an intrepid swimmer having jumped into every river, lake, canal and sea he could find with his webbed paws, fetched every stick in the forest and chewed every ball and toy he has come across. He has developed into a wonderful personality, loved his fun agility sessions with Wonderpaws (until I broke my ankle ) and is always ready with a smile, a kiss or a waggy tale, thanks Bran for coming into our lives and sharing your love with us.XXXX
PS A number of people have told me they are sure that Bran is in fact a Patterdale Terrier and I have googled the bred. He certainly does seem to possess a large number of the Patterdale characteristics and he certainly bears an uncanny resemblance to a lot of the photos of Black Patterdales online, any of you more experienced DIDers have any thoughts??
bran2.jpgJanuary 15, 2014 at 4:06 pm #118909IndiannaMemberI have a Patterdale Terrier and would say your boy is indeed a Patterdale. A fantastic breed, I wouldn’t swap my little monster for the world. She also destroys all toys in under a minute. Great personality, great fun and I think we are very lucky to have Patterdales in our world .
January 16, 2014 at 12:38 pm #118920annieoMemberThanks Indianna, we are pretty convinced he is a Patterdale and I agree the world is a much better place for having this wonderful breed in it, not quite like any other dog breed I have met so far. I could write a book about all his funny traits, he certainly keeps us entertained and brightens our lives everyday .
