Jones is a fabulous 10 month old pup.
He is wormed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and neutered.
He is not in foster with kids however he has shown a really keen interest in kids and seeks them out on a walk!! So he is great with kids. He is not in foster with cats.
He is house trained, travels well int he car and is extremely affectionate.
Ideally he would be a second dog as he thrives in other dogs & humans company and really enjoys having a buddy to play with.If you would like to apply to adopt Jones please go to the "adopt a dog" section in the tabs at the top of this page or click here https://dogsindistress.org/adopta-dog/
There you will find all the information on the adoption procedure and the adoption application to be downloaded.

jonessuntime.JPGMay 30, 2012 at 6:13 pm #108199clairefMemberJones has discovered his Lab side!! I have a half whiskey barrel pond with a few small fish in the garden and I came out to find him knee deep in the barrel! He had his front two legs in and was having a nice paddle for himself! He is just such a gas man!! You can see I have made a small ‘Jones Guard’ over the pond now!
Jones is doing great and honestly makes me smile everyday! He is great with my own two and they managed to pencil in a break from their evening play session to let me take a quick photo!
He is going to make a fantastic family pet for a very very lucky family!

He just adores children and took meeting other dogs in his stride. He is so affectionate and well behaved and whoever adopts him will be so lucky

He just adores kids,he really gravitates towards them and was so gentle showing them his tricks of high 5!
And he was so funny with little Leah the terrier x puppy, the fact she could steal his pigs ear and boss him around and she is only a dot!!He is a stunning dog and has such a great nature any family would be extremely lucky to have him and their existing dog will get a friend for life in him
June 12, 2012 at 8:49 pm #109966clairefMemberThis fab chap is doing great and is as happy and affectionate as ever! Such a gem he is just a complete love bug and so friendly to everyone. Jones just lives to play and has such a blast playing with my own two dogs.
He is doing great on his lead training and just so responsive to treats. Jones now shows his belly on command along with his signature move . . . the high five!
I cannot believe this amazing guy hasn’t been snapped up yet, he has a wonderful temperament and buckets of personality. He is a people magnet and loves nothing more than meeting new people and dogs. . . and look at that face!!!

I have noticed that this chap never jumps up on you! No matter how excited he doesnt jump which is just great!
Jones is great in the house and puts himself to bed when we are going to bed. He sleeps through the night not a peep! This guy is just such a softie and when he puts his head in your lap and looks up at you with those huge brown puppy eyes you cant help but smile!

What a fab ambassador for DID. He stole everyones heart! He has everything a wonderful dogs needs and should be gone by now; if you want a very special boy forever this is THE ONE Fianna
August 5, 2012 at 5:03 pm #110852clairefMemberJones is doing great It would take more than a few dark clouds to dull this guys spirits!! He just loves to play sticks and would happily chase a stick until he literally falls asleep on his feet!
Jones is great in the house, sleeps all through the night, loves going in the car and is great with other dogs of all sizes. He loves his rough and tumble with similar sized dogs and is very gentle with smaller dogs.
He just loves everyone!! I brought him with me and Oki to agility classes last weekend and this chap was great! Just so friendly he even tried to go home with one of the families when they were leaving! Soon as I whistled for him he came running back – big smiley face and floppy ears!
I must admit it is very very hard not to fall for this guy the moment you meet him – he has a contagious happy outlook and is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud every day!

August 10, 2012 at 8:54 pm #110947MariFromSwedenMemberThis sounds like the perfect dog (to me). I’m partial to retrievers, but I’d think he would suit many families that enjoy both exercising, and training with their dog, but also taking it easy in front of the TV with a cuddle friendly dog.
If I was living in Ireland I would love to introduceJones to my young Labrador x girl. She thrives in the company of another dog, and we are planning to get her, and us another canine family member. Preferably an Irish one, since our girl is a rescue from Ireland, and we’re so happy with her.How much does Jones weigh now at 10 months? Is he tall or like a typical hunting Labrador? How old was he when he was surrendered into DID’s care?
Anyway, you obviously take good care of the fella until he get a permanent family. Great job!
