Brian is a lovely dog and has lots of life and personality.!!! He is grand on the lead and gets on well with the other dogs. He has a little whimper, he uses this if he is too far away from his canine friends, he likes to be close to them. He was sitting patiently in his kennel when I went to take him out. He had no collar so had to go looking for one, so he was very very patient. He is a small dog with a petite frame. Gorgeous fella.

There is a five day window for this owners to reclaim him. After that he is free to be rehomed directly from Ashtown….. or there could come an offer of a foster home for him, that way he’d be in the care of DID awaiting his forever home

All dogs under urgent action are at risk especially when the pound is full. They have to make space as more dogs come in. DID do the very best to make sure that all healthy dogs get out and safe but they are relying on offers from other rescues or from foster homes which are often full themselves.

Further to my previous post last Saturday, seeing that BRIAN is still in Ashton Pound, I would like to offer him his "Forever Home" with my girls and boys in Northern Ireland.

I can collect him first thing this Saturday morning.

BRIAN is just a handsome wee dote and he will never have another worry in the world again, running along the beach most days with
my Hollee, a German Shepherd/GreyhoundX and
Evie, a Doberman/Springer SpanielX, playing fling the ball!
Cuddling up to his feline brothers and sisters too, one of them with one eye and one with 3 legs. A warm bed with his sisters. A secure garden to run around in. Treats galore! Loads of hugs and kisses too!

Spoke to Julie and Bridget in Ashton Pound on the phone at the beginning of December 2009, with regards to coming down and homing one of the wee dogs in the Pound at the time. But I realised it was just too soon, after the passing of my wee 14.5 year old minature black pomeranian in October 2009. Both Julie and Bridget were very helpful. Sophie is still missed terribly by us all, but I think BRIAN’s plight is a special reason to rehome another wee dog. He is moving further and further down the urgent action list!

Can anyone tell me if dogs can be rehomed on a Saturday from Ashton Pound and if they accept Mastercard? If not I can get money changed to euros tomorrow.

being well I will be able to bring Brian home. I have their phone number from the previous time.

Seeing him going further and further down the urgent action list is
heartbreaking and I think a more mature boy like him, 7-8 years old, is just what we need. Ages of my girls and boys at the moment range from 1 year to 7 years. I know this wee dog will be an absolute character, by looking at his photos and reading the other postings.
He deserves the chance for a new life after all he has been through!

Really looking forward to meeting Brian, taking him for a wee
dander at the Pound, and then making him feel safe and secure in the car for his journey home.

I collected my Steve on a Saturday from Ashtown however I’d been up the previous week and filled in an application form. This had been reviewed midweek by pound Manager (don’t think the Manager is there at weekends). I was approved and able to bring him home the following Saturday. You can definitely pick up a dog at the weekend but may not get approved to rehome there and then. Also you need to have cash to hand. There is a fee to rehome and you have to pay your dog licence before taking your new addition home. Best of luck. Of course because you are travelling a distance down they may waiver their usual policy. Fingers crossed.
