Meet Diva – only by name, though, NOT by nature!!  Diva arrived with us yesterday and what a fab little girl she is (did I say little??? cos she ain’t little!) She is truly gorgeous – big and beautiful – and she has settled in here really well. She is a big baby but she is – pretty much – toilet trained from what I can see; she eats like a HORSE; and she slept without a peep last night in the kitchen with the others. :D :D She is really playful and there are mad chasing and wrestling games going on here especially with Sam and Casper who are also "big and beautiful" so you can imagine the mayhem here!!!  She also has the – very lab, I am told – tendency to chew ANYTHING in sight, especially if it is made of wood so look out kitchen chairs! Diva will be microchipped, wormed and have at least her first vaccination before being rehomed. She will be a fairly large dog when fully grown. :D

Diva continues to delight us all here. :D :D All she wants to do is play all day long (in between the chewing, that is!  ). She is always on the lookout for a chase – she will grab anything that she can and TEAR off with it in the hope that someone, be they human or canine, will value the cargo enough to chase her to retrieve it!   For all that, she is quite gentle in nature and will retreat behind someone’s legs if the going gets too rough. She ADORES people and everyone she sees gets greeted with wild enthusiasm. A wonderful little girl – another one we will find hard to let go.  :D :D
In the pics below look at the rapt attention to the upheld treat :D

Discovered a few new things about the little princess over the last day or two. Diva LOVES a ball! She found one here that -amazingly- still has its squeak intact and she plays with it non-stop!!  She will fetch a thrown ball every time and loves the game. :D She is also extremely good in the car. We had her on a slightly longer journey yesterday and she just lay down on the back seat the whole time. Her recall is excellent and she comes without fail when called which is incredible because, when I got her on Sunday, we changed her name. So with THREE name changes in her short life, she has copped on remarkably quickly. :D :D :D She is completely toilet trained and will always go outside herself if she needs to. A really great girlie!!! :D

Diva continues to thrive here and she has rapidly become part of the family – probably because the family is as mad as she is!!   Only joking! She is a really playful, affectionate and active little girl with excellent recall and she is SO QUICK to learn. She will be an ideal candidate for training for whoever is lucky enough to home her – the sight of a treat and she is putty in your hands.  She gets on great with all the dogs here and she just LOVES everybody. I can’t say enough good things about her but she will need a home prepared to give her the time, space and stimulation she needs to reach her full potential. I know her perfect forever family are out there. :D :D :D

Well our beautiful lady was microchipped and got her first vax yesterday – and there wasn’t a PEEP out of her! :D :D Not a whimper, not a flinch, nothing! She continues to be a real sweetheart, totally housetrained, amazing in the car, SO eager to learn, loves her treats, sits on command, comes IMMEDIATELY when called and adores people – young and older – and other dogs. A REAL TREASURE! Whoever is lucky enough to home her will be getting a real good’un!!!   :D :D

Well for a "diva", this lady is awfully difficult to photograph!  She is rarely still and constantly on the go. She is curious about everything too – every noise, every shadow, every bit of fluff on the floor has to be investigated thoroughly!!! Usually with fiercely wagging tail and lolling tongue!!! Diva is a really wonderful lady who has come on in leaps and bounds, especially in confidence. She adores the ball and all toys – tug toys are a real winner with her and she will invite anyone – person or dog – into a game of tug with her. Plenty of willing participants here, I must say. She needs some lead training as she is strong and WILDLY enthusiastic about her walk but off lead she is amazing. :D :D An altogether great girl! :D

Well, Diva’s toy of choice in recent days has become the – fairly battered and well chewed at this stage – trampoline!  All the dogs here love it and since the weather has picked up a bit, it has now become a play area once again. :D :D Unfortunately Diva, just like Casper, can’t manage to get up on it by herself so I am growing Schwarzenegger type muscles lifting the pair of them on and off!!!!
Diva continues to be a real pleasure to foster, very affectionate and eager to learn. I would love her to find her forever home soon though because she really deserves some people of her own! :D There is a lot of sharing needed here where the dogs outnumber the humans and I would love to have the time to devote to her alone. That said, there will be plenty of tears when she does leave – a real princess!!!

Diva continues to be a joy to foster and she absolutely keeps us all entertained.  Just back from our morning walk in Tymon and, as usual, she made me laugh many times over. Diva ADORES a ball and will bully ANY one of the others out of it if they get to it first (including Sam and Mollie who tease her for a while and then, in typical parental fashion, just give it to her!!!) However, she also loves a stick and to see her on the horns of a dilemma when she finds a stick is so funny – she runs from ball to stick, picks one up, drops it in favour of the other, then changes her mind until I have to move her along!! When we come home from the walk, she runs straight out to the utility room where the dog food is kept, noses the dog food bin and, if I amn’t RIGHT on her heels, she comes out with a worried expression – "Where are you? I am STARVING!!!"  She also loves to "make the beds"! She relocates all the dog bed blankets during the day so we have some bare beds and some worthy of the "princess and the pea" in the amount of blankets they have!!!!  A real sweetheart!! :D :D

Well with misty eyes, I dropped our gorgeous princess off to her new life in Carrickmines this morning! :( :( The misty eyes were all on my part, I have to say.  I left Diva tearing around like a lunatic chasing her new little sis, Lucy. :D :D :D All the very best, my special lady – we will miss you. :D :D
