MemberWeeeeeeee!!!!! What fun this little monkey is! She’s taken quite a shine to our housemate Sean, and is currently curled up on his lap, chew toy clutched between her front paws, fast asleep. She’s a bouncy, friendly, snuggly little pup….exactly what everyone wants from a pup. What a dote! Tomorrow morning she meets Mr. Poopers the Monster Westie, who I think is going to fall paws-over-heels in lurve with her. She’ll give him a run for his money, no doubt! We’ll update with pics tomorrow. Yay! Fun times in Stoneybatter!

MemberWell, what can you say about Tally? She is, on all counts, pretty much the perfect puppy. She loves everyone. She really loves children. She is a little bundle of endless energy. Seriously. She never stops. She would love to be in a home with some kids for playmates. Tally is extremely gentle, friendly, playful and sweet. She is also one of the most adorable little puppies in the world. The perfect balance of spots, scruff and big brown eyes. There hasn’t been a single time that we’ve gone out for a walk where we weren’t stopped on the street every few feet by complete strangers cooing over her cuteness! She and Mr. P are, after some initial wariness, best of friends. He occasionally gets a little annoyed with her constant jumping at him to play, but a proper little warning growl puts her in her place. She knows the rules! She is also not overly dependent on his company, and quite happily go off on her own and amuse herself if he’s not interested. I think she would be equally happy in a home with or without a canine companion, as long as her people spent plenty of time playing with her. Like all puppies, she’ll make her own fun if not supervised, and her version of fun can be mischievous (as the chewed up DVD player, shoes, electricity bill and expensive art book can attest to!)
Tally is more or less house trained. The few accidents she has had have been because we weren’t paying enough attention. For the most part, she goes and sits at the back door when she needs to go. She also does something I have never in my life seen a female dog do- she goes up on her hind legs and puts her front paws up against the wall to wee. It is hilarious! We’ve been trying to get a picture of her doing it, but she stops as soon as she realizes we’re looking at her. It’s been hard to get photos of her at all, as she literally never stops moving. Even if she’s fast asleep, she wakes up and starts bouncing around the minute you move.
Tally is an all-rounder. She would fit in almost anywhere. We love her!

MemberMany years ago we had a JRT bitch who did the complete opposite. She used to stand on her front paws and ‘walk’ her back paws up walls, trees, fences and had a wee like that. Very odd
, but she did it that way her entire life and she lived to a grand old age
. Tally is indeed very, very cute.

Membertally is having a grand old time here. right now she is watching It’s Me or the Dog with avid interest, letting off little yipping barks when the t.v. dogs are naughty.
she’s a little cracker! housetraining continues to improve, and she has more or less mastered "sit", although her recall is still woeful, so no off leash time for her yet. she’s an awful little thief, and drags all her stolen booty out to the back yard (the better for us to chase her!). she plays hard, and it’s endlessly entertaining to watch her run around in circles yipping and jumping at flies and leaves and anything else that catches her eye. she continues to be gentle natured and sweet, and accepts all handling without complaint. she allows us to take anything from her, even out of her mouth, without any issue. tally and mr. p are giving each other a run for their money. walking the two of them together is a bit of a challenge, as tally occassionally gets it in her head to start pouncing on mr. p, and the two go at it like gangbusters, tripping me up in the process.
people think it’s hilarious!
tally will need to go to a home where there is someone home most of the day, as she gets distressed if separated from her people (even with another dog for company). while she loves other dogs, she really values human company even more. she’s a great little girl, and will be great company for her family!
here she is with mr. p, having a little wrestle:

Memberpoor wee tally had her spay this week, and she’s finding the enforced rest to be hard going. for a little girl who just lives to bounce, being made to stay still and wearing the big cone of shame is a trial and tribulation. still, she’s full of wags and wiggles for us, despite being thoroughly fed up. and she snuggles like a champ! it’s a true testament to a dog’s character when they remain loving, gentle and sweet, even when they’re put out.
tally’s new family has hit the jackpot with this great little dog! i know they’ll love her as much as she’s going to love them. there will be tears when she goes, but just knowing that she’s going to give and receive so much joy makes the thought of parting with our lil’ puppy monster a small bit easier.

Memberwell, my baby girl has gone off with her new family this afternoon. quite a few tears were shed when the car pulled away! as sad as i am to see her go, i’m so happy she’s going to have the happy life she deserves. if only all little dogs were so lucky to have that chance! the house will be much quieter without her. her new family have promised me loads of updates, so look forward to hearing all about her antics!

MemberWell Tally has been with us now for a week and what a joy she is. She has settled in very well. She has had a good recovery from her op and had her stitches out today. Trying to keep her from overdoing it was a task in itself as she just wanted to be jumping and playing all the time. Although the cuddles we got trying to contain her were a real bonus. We are now looking forward to taking her out for walks as much as she is to getting further than the back garden. She is so cute all who meet her just melt. The children from the extended family have called by to say hello and to say they are in awe of us is an understatement. Think we may have to stagger the visits so as not to over excite Tally. The welcome we receive when any of us come in is just wonderful. She is a pure joy to have and we are all smitten. Thank you Sarah for the book it is a great help and the yellow toy is still her favourite. Thank you so much for finding her for us. As soon as I have figured out how to upload photos I will send some on.

MemberTally having fun in the garden with that special toy that she plays with most of the time. She loves letting us chase her round the garden to get it back.
Such fun we are all having.

MemberJust want to share an update on how Tally is getting on. She has been part of our family now since last sept and we could not imagine life without her.
She is such a bundle of joy and such fun to have around. She loves the TV and gets all excited when other animals are on especially the horse racing. She is loved by all who meet her … how could you not. However she still has a thing for shoes and has been known to chew the heels of a few that were left lying around by friends of my daughters staying over.
…..
Christmas morning was extra special with Tally opening her presents – a turkey and a bone – and chasing around with all the excitement. Tally loves her walks and on the very mention of the work she will be sitting at the front door waiting patiently.
Today was a new experience for her with a trip to malahide beach with a dip in the sea which she took in her stride. Of course she also loved all the friends she met on the way. I am attaching a few photos of Tally for all to see. Tally is a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you so much.XAisling and Tally.jpg
