Oh my God that expression says it all…………What just happened.
Where has my family gone.
It must be a mistake they will be back soon to collect me.
I have seen that look too many times and it’s one I don’t care to remember, yet it is always there with most of the surrendered dogs.

Poor girl yet she WILL FORGIVE AND FORGET IN TIME…….. that is why dog’s and animals in general are so good not like their humans.
I hate to think how she is feeling tonight, hopefully she is tired enough to sleep and forget for a little while how scared she is.

Met this little girl last week, and she is a heart breaker. So pretty…and so completely devastated by what has happened to her. So grateful she is getting a loving foster home. She needed to be back in a home.

Hi Everyone,
Oceana came to stay with us on Friday, this is my 1st foster and I was a bit nervous but we are getting on brillantly. She is an absolute sweetheart and we are falling in love with her!
She has fitted right in and we haven’t seen any nerves at all from her.
She did have one accident on the 1st day, but I think it was just new surroundings because hasn’t had any since.
My 9yr old son is having a great time with her, they are constantly playing fetch or on the trampoline !! Last night she went to bed with him and came down to me when he was asleep which I thought was sweet.
She is very strong on the lead and loves to chase anything that fly’s which can be a problem if your walking down the road but she has got better in only 2 days so I think time will sort that out.
I’ll add some photo’s and keep updated on how she’s getting on.

Just a quick update on how oceana is doing, she has settled in here really well, you would think she was always here, she is such a happy placid dog. She is sleeping well, she sleeps downstairs and comes up about half 8 to wake us up.

She is still a bit strong on the lead and wants to sniff in every nook and cranny we pass, but she’s getting better each day. She loves playing with other dogs and is great with kids.

My son is teaching her some tricks, she is so smart, she gives the paw, sits, lie’s down, and know’s what words like down, drop it and no mean. At the moment she is learning to roll over.

There is so much to say about her because she really is a great dog, i can’t understand how she was left were she was

Rachel – fair play to you for taking Oceana into foster and congratulations for fostering for the first time.

Re the pulling on the lead – I wanted to suggest that you try the Lupi harness on Oceana. They are inexpensive and most good pet shops stock them. The are so effective at stopping pulling they are almost magical! And they work in a way that doesn’t bother the dog. I have tried the Halti harness also – the one that goes over the nose,it’s effective but very aggrivating for the dog so not a great solution for pulling. I’m telling you – try a Lupi and you’ll be amazed! My self and my partner are such converts that we regularly stop total strangers on the street who are having difficulty with their dog pulling on the lead. Forgot to say thanks to justineemoe for the advice about the harness, haven’t had a chance but going to try and get over to the long mile road pet shop and pick one up, although she is getting better i think that would do her the world of good.
