We put Terrier Dalmation in the title of this post but we are not really sure. Either way she is a lovely dog with a great personality.
Sylvie is about 12 months old, is fully house trained and can sit, give the paw and stay on command. She is an unusual looking dog with big amber eyes. She is very placid and is happy to be in your company. She enjoys playing with a ball and entertains herself by pushing it away and catching it when you are not throwing it for her.
Sylvie is good with children having spent some time with a 7 year old girl today.

June 28, 2010 at 9:33 pm #81668justineemoeMemberHere is the latest update on Sylvie – as we have now had her for almost a week…
Sylvie has proven to be a really exceptional dog. She is so good for a one year old. Our friends nearby have a 5 mth old puppy, Millie, and Millie and Sylvie are great friends. Sylvie even had a sleep over with Millie on Saturday night. Sylvie loves running around with Millie when they meet up – so she has the energy and playfulness of a young dog, but when she is at home she as good as gold. Happy to sit sit with her ball in the quiet hope that it might be tossed accross the room from time to time. Today at dinner she was looking longingly at my plate, I pointed away and said no – quite gently really, and she immediately turned around and sat down facing away from me. I’m constantly amazed at how good she is and find myself saying "you’re such a good dog!" regularly. She loves to play ball and she goes to the park around the corner twice a day for a session. Her fitness levels are improving so she may not have been exercised much where she came from. She is also a model passenger in the car.Sylvie is here beside me on the couch. She is a lovely gentle girl, good with all dogs, people and children. I will be sad to part with her when the time comes but know some lucky person or family is going to love her.
July 5, 2010 at 8:36 pm #98817buzzsmomMemberSylvie gets my vote for the most gorgeous dog available on this site , sorry to all the rest but for me the sheer uniqueness of this lady coupled with her attentive posture suggests a lot of fun with a dog that is responsive to training. She is a very attractive creature . I bet you don’t go far without someone commenting on her looks?
July 6, 2010 at 9:37 pm #98861justineemoeMemberHooray for Sylvie! Thanks for those lovely words. I really appreciate them – we are glowing with pride. Of course I can’t help having a special attachment to my own foster dog – however while I am biased, you are right, people do comment on Sylvie, she’s actually even more unusual in the flesh. Kids seem particularly facinated with her – especially her dalmation like spots, and it’s a pleasure for me to be able to say – go ahead, pet her, she’s friendly, – she’s gentle and doesn’t jump up.
She’s quite a stunner and her eyes look almost human sometimes. But she is especially good. I took her to a new park yesterday for the first time. I was walking past the little gate again this evening and she immediately went to go in – she knew the way already.
I must get more pics and video up this weekend!
July 6, 2010 at 10:33 pm #98864DID RescueKeymasterI met this girl last week and she was so good getting her vaccination and microchip. She also met Kealan and was very well behaved.
She is fully grown now so could be classed as a medium sized dog.
As Justine said she is unusual, she has wire type hair on her muzzle, maybe thats the terrier part.
Lets hope her new family are not far away or on holidays which seems to be the majority of people at the moment……….I am jealousJuly 8, 2010 at 2:46 pm #98910eiredaveyMemberWhat a gorgeous little thing! So unusual, alot of character in those eyes
July 8, 2010 at 4:33 pm #98915IndiannaMemberShe IS very striking but how big/little is she? Cocker-size, Collie-size or Lab-size? Beautiful for sure.
July 9, 2010 at 2:09 pm #98945justineemoeMemberI would describe her as a medium sized dog. She is closer to collie than lab sized as she is slim. However she is a little taller than the average collie.

July 20, 2010 at 3:02 pm #99204OliviaMemberHi Justine
Sylvie is just gorgeous , and sounds like she has a lovely nature and is very clever. You mentioned she is good with kids , has she been around younger kids?
I am filling in my application today and she’ll be top of my list , she sounds perfect!July 20, 2010 at 3:38 pm #99205justineemoeMemberSylvie is excellent with children. My friend lives around the corner and her 3 year old often plays with Sylvie in the park. He throws the ball and she brings it back to him. If it takes Dillon 5 minutes to throw the ball again Sylvie just waits in front of him – front legs bent, bum in the air, tail wagging – but patiently, not grabbing the ball – just waiting for Dillon to throw it again. She’s not the kind of dog to jump up and knock a child down either.
When she is out playing her focus is the ball and her toys. When she is at home and the toys are put away she’s gentle, affectionate and quiet – so she is a great dog for adults too – she is a pleasure to have in the park or the house. She is utterly devoted to myself and my partner and I know she will be the same with any loving person or family she goes to. When I come home in the evening she is over the moon to see me. I have to say I am totally besotted with her!
Do you have a cat? I’m not sure how she would be with a cat in the house – I have seen her chase a couple in the park. I think it’s more for the chase than to attack them – but still – I would be wary!
Finally – the latest update – Sylvie has now progressed to silent commands! She sits, stays, lies down and gives the paw in response to hand signals! I can highly, highly reccomend her to any prospective adoptor.
Thanks for your interest in Sylvie
