We are planning on having our holiday in Limepark in a couple of months time and are pretty excited about trying somewhere new with the dogs! Just wondering if you could let us know of the best walks (on and off lead) for the dogs in and around the area, including beaches, trails etc…… I’m pretty organised and like to have a good idea in advance of where we can go so as to make the most of the holiday! It looks lovely on the website but if there’s anything we should / shouldn’t be aware of we’d be very grateful to know! Incidentally, Limepark and Mill House Farm are two of the very few places we have found that will actually allow us to take our 3 dogs; a lot of places, we have found, specify either 1 dog only, or 2 at most……… Regrettably I had a very unpleasant experience with the Ardilaun, Galway, who had initially told us that 3 dogs were no problem and then changed their mind and told me that, and I quote exactly from the accommodation manager, it wouldnt look good to have 3 dogs seen coming in / out of a hotel room!!!!!!!!!! She then proceeded to moan forever about the state that dog owners left the rooms in and that they had to leave the rooms vacant for 2 days after dogs had stayed there and get specialist cleaning companies in to shampoo the carpets! (Yes, people, and they have the brass neck to charge e10 per dog, per night (the self catering tend to charge just e10 per stay, as opposed to night) and furthermore to plug themselves as being dog friendly!!!!!

May 16, 2010 at 3:04 pm #98172DogsBestFriendMemberThanks a million anyhow Geordie – we really liked the look of Limepark from the website and spoke to Melanie there (who co-owns) and she was really lovely, so we have taken a leap of faith and gone ahead and booked our holiday there! We are going towards the end of the summer and were really lucky to get the cottage we wanted for that period as they are almost fully booked out now until mid / end September (which is encouraging!)….. Really excited now about going as it will make a nice change from Kilmore, where we sometimes go, and as I say, its difficult to get lodgings for 3 dogs! If you’ve not been before we go sure I will post the official review and tell all on the boards! Thanks again, if it werent for your recommendation, we prob never would’ve found this place! Happy hols with Hailey when you do get going!
